I know many of you will be giving this thread some strange looks, but give it a read anyway. The DOJ just passed the new 2257 regulations which have effectively shut down every porn site within the united states. For those of you who may have been perusing porn sites, or at least the free sites, you will notice a distinct lack of adult material. All sites after June 23 are required to remove adult material that may be able to be viewed by minors(non-membership sites), lest they face a $25k fine, per picture. However, the law goes deeper with more legal paradoxes.
The Free Speech Coalition was able to stay the enforcement of the law pertaining to its members, but one must pay a yearly $300 fee to be a member of their group. For more info, check out the stick figure illustration in the link. It provides a very good explanation of how the new law works. I hope they repeal this soon or someone finds a legal loophole. All jokes aside, this is a serious abridgement to our freedoms and we should not take this lightly. As a legal adult, you have the right to view anyone fucking that you fucking please. I am even more disgusted at this administration....

nah. Your about as bad as those guys who cry "repost". I'm not mad at all that I'm not the first to post about it. Actually, I'm quite happy. Means someone else is noticing how the government is trampling our freedoms. you just piss me off because you never seem to have anything productive to add to a thread. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Jackass

eh, whether you know it or not, me and QD go back. He always rubs me the wrong way. Just about every post I made on here before IA changed over, QD always made a little quip. And we get into these petty thread bickers. He is usually why I don't post here...honestly. I like the site, but I can't stand the quips. Your right QD, you can't be friends with everybody. Likewise, I can't be. I swear, I try hard, but something about the posts just really bothers me. dunno. Oh and I don't give a flying fuck if i dont' make friends here. I don't know who you are. Therefore, I can't say anything about any petty bickering. I agree this is petty. There was nothing about my initial post to make you go off on me. But as you said, I also don't care. I can be friends with everyone. I choose not be friends with idiots. Not saying you are one. Just idiots in general. Like I said, my post was harmless, not an attack. You decided it to be best to take it as such. So it's on you, not me. Later, QD.

hmm. replying to two posts at once.
To QD. Same guy, same superboost from before IA's changeover. A few times we interacted, briefly and usually it always resulted in the same thing. Petty bickering. I called you the resident IA joker. You are. I'm not quite used to that, so occaisionally it rubs me the wrong way. Shits still damn annoying to me, and I'm going to express my annoyance. Thats just me. I got nothing against you.
To soul.
You really seem to like QD. You his boyfriend or something? I know he's a popular guy (qd, you may wanna watch this fellow) but your all up his ass. Anyway, I am very secure in my sexuality because I know. You seem to be the one who enjoys analyzing people's preferences, perhaps because you do not understand your own. I like my porn, I like my fuckbuddy and she likes watching porn with me. So don't talk about anything you know nothing about. :2up:

That's kind of who I thoguht you were. I remember the IA joker comment and how you didn't like it. Sorry. I won't change it, though, especially since one person out of the whole memberbase doesn't like it. Go to serious.com or something if you want a narrow, boring forum board. You can express your annoyance and I will continue to lolol @ you for being petty. That's just me. Still funny how my initial post still wasn't an attack or to be funny.

Or go to www.limewire.com and download all the video and pics you need to get your masterbation through the night, and then you wont have to worry about a new law saying you cant get it for free

it ain't about that at all. Frankly you can always get your free porn from limewire, bit torrent, et al. Thats not it at all. the issue is one of free speech. Its a slippery slope. First they come for the porn, then the downloads, then the offensive books. Give em an inch, they'll take a mile. And becoming a member (if you are attempting to run a site) of the FSC is expensive. You shouldn't have to pay for your freedom, that is what this law implies.
Brett
07-04-2005, 09:07 AM
Well if you think about it, they are not taking your FREEDOM OF SPEECH away, they are still saying its okay to hav porn on the internet, the law if I am understanding it right is just saying there is no free previews allowed, you will have to pay for it. Thats not taking freedom of speech away, and to be honest, yeah porn is awesome, but we have 2 kids who use the computer and I would MUCH rather there be a law that says you have to pay to see those images then a kid going to the site either by accident, or intentional but not being of age to see the pictures. It more protects the many kids who surf the interent as well and to me that is a good enough reason for me.
superbooost
07-04-2005, 12:18 PM
I understand where they're coming from and where your coming from, but the law goes further than that. They did this out of the Traci Lords icident, with the minor who took those adult pictures. Anyway, I understand you dont' want your kids viewing porn, but that is up to the parents. Thats what they make filter software for. If you don't want your kid viewing this content, don't stick a computer in their room and let them view these sites unsupervised etc etc. I am a middle school teacher and have to deal with kids daily trying to visit sites they should not online. Kids do that. You have to be vigilant in teaching them right from wrong. More legislation is not the answer. You cannot use the government to raise peoples kids.

ya, but thats still not the answer. God knows I wish someone would. Kids coming to school with house arrest anklets on. Kids beating other kids into concussions. Kids impregnating kids....Middle school kids hitting on me. However, I just don't think this is gonna work.

just tryin to have an actual debate here. Not a tit for tat "repost" or immature thread here. The whole thing is that if you read the links, they put this law in place to protect minors. However, there are already laws in place to do so. Keep the pc out the kids room, supervise your youngin's. Really, read the law and take an active role in how the government governs you, because ultimately the law affects you. Its that same attitude that let the patriot act get passed. I'm just saying people should be more vigilant with your kids and your government. The government here is to serve you, and your here to protect your kids. Oh and QD is aight. he gets on my nerves sometime, but I really don't care about all that. Its the law and apathetic attitudes that have me steamed.
