View Full Version : So, what's the next car you'll buy?

What's your current car and what do you plan on moving to next?

After the Integra, I wanted something more "sports car" oriented, and the Integra was anything but that. It was a great, fun car, but it was time for change.

I got the Z06 and have been loving every minute of it.

So this got me thinking; what's next?

If I were to move into another car it would either a Turbo Viper GTS, Twin turbo C6 Z06, or maybe a Porsche GT2/GT3. For as much money as I'd spend getting into those, though, I'd probably spend on my current C5Z06 and have fun with it.

So, what car is next for you?

I'm going to either buy a C6Z06 or a Porsche 996 911Turbo whenever this car has some miles racked up on the body. I plan on keeping it for a good while, though.

Are you going to buy one that's already twin turbo'd or going to build it from the ground up?

You're 3.5yrs younger than me, heh.

Why waste money if you know you're going to move into a 240? You'll save yourself a lot of cheese by finding the car you want, and work towards getting it.

I've paid for 100% of everything I own since I was 18. Rent, bills, car, etc.

Just make sure you keep your focus on the end goal and you'll get there.

i'm in the same situation as some other people on here. i'm probably younger than most people on here and have the same tuition/college fees to worry about:(.

I'd hopefully like to find me a 97 15th annv. supra red/tan bone stock and less than 15k miles. It will be a while before i could come up with the money for it or find the car itself. until then, i'll just hang on to the fords:D

I want to keep the wagon around for a bit, at least long enough to do an EJ207 swap with a rotated mount GT30R and front mount. I'm going to finish up the brakes and suspension by the end of the summer, then its going to be minor cosmetics. New engine will come when I've got good enough cash flow to blow up this transmission, although it should handle my power goals.

I really want an 02 Si with a K20A2, or maybe just an RSX Type-S to keep relatively stock as a DD. Both should be quick and still yield good gas mileage.

I'm undecided, dealers are going to be ridiculous with the new GT-R but I want one so I'll probably wait till the madness dies down. The new M3 looks nice as well but I don't believe it will stack up.

Business has been going REALLY well this month and if this trend continues to grow at a nice pace over the next year or so then a 997 GT3 is in the future without a doubt.

Still have my S4 but it's completely stock now still restoring/building my Sr-510...Trying to sell the S4 finish the datsun and prolbably do the same. After all thats done I would get a pick up truck or nice luxary suv.

I agree with charles on this one....fuck performance cars. I would rather take all that money invested into performance parts and throw it into stocks, and get ready for early retirement

Do both. Maybe not to an extreme on either side, though.

I still have fun modding my car. I know it's not the fastest, but it's pretty quick. Instead of dumping so much money into a car, we still make retirement our #1 priority. So I can enjoy a decently quick car and still retire a multimillionaire at the ripe age of 45. :D

Little bit into cars, little bit into 401k/investments.

Good advice in the last couple of posts. Thats exactly what I'm doing this summer; working overtime since I'm not taking classes, using a little for the car and a little for investment. Always best to start young.

Its rough if you start from scratch completely.. its going on two years and I cannot explain how depressing it can be not to have what you want, but the sacrifice is paying off. Got the house, 401k, and once the business is doing well I will make up for all of this lost time with interest.

Well see, I was trying to do both. "i bought my house and my datsun at the same time...after investing soo much in car i realized how much i could've have put into my house to make the value go up. We all live and learn and make mistakes and ya maybe after i get myself situated and have enough to play with then i might get back into the car thing again but it won't be to go fast it will simply be a restoration project

As long as you know your priorities.

And Tony, I know it takes a lot of self discipline to get to where you're at. Being an enthusiast and keeping your cool when you could've made cars a priority.

The payoff is always worth it.
