Like the title says.

Me and mr.kidd put our s13's up on the lift last weekend.

We were both having the same problems: steering wobble/ vibration.

Well I can't go over 50mph without it getting really progressively worse, but it comes and goes while maintaining speed. My wheels are balanced and wheel bearings are fine.

It's the tie rods and the front tension/ caster rods.

Soo... apparently it's a common problem for s13's, etc.

Anybody else have this problem?

I guess we have to buy the tein inner and outer tie rods AND the tension rods. :/ Do they come with the spherical bearings? Those bushings and balljoints are totally fuxord. LOL

I like to find the find the 240's with good TC rod bushings, drill a hole in them and slurp the goo out. Its delicious and has many nutients and is good in fiber.

Are you using aftermarket wheels? Even if you're not, make sure the wheels are completely centered on the hub while you are tightening the lug nuts. I had this exact problem while I was running wheels that required a spacer....it was virtually impossible to center the wheels on the hubs.

The best thing to do is to get wheels that don't need spacers...and get a set of hubcentric rings. If they didn't come with your wheels (they almost never do), you can get them for like $12 shipped off eBay. Even if you're not using spacers, the hubcentric rings can still do wonders for solving those annoying vibration issues.

yes i'm using aftermarket wheels. BUT i always torque them on in the air. i'll try the hub rings since i have some laying around, but i assure you it's the tension rods and tie rods + bushings. :(

iirc the Tein ones are not spherical... Moog makes oem replacement ones w/ zerk fittings that are cheaper and should get the job done unless you want spherical ones.

who is moog? i'm not locked into the tein ones, but the price is decent.

You know I went half deaf several years back from my s13 actually exploding while I was in the car. If you see me I will most likely ask you to repeat something 3X before I hear what you said.
