i was telling my friend about the 2.7T engine today and told him that its one of the greatest european engines. Personally its my favorite engine from audi, but i dont own one. i hope i can afford a s4 with the 2.7T soon enough.

Its time to show off what you know about this engine because i didnt know any facts about this engine to suppord my discussion. stuff like max hp on stock internals or turbos, 1/4 mile time, and everything else:goodjob::boobies:

Heard it was a great engine and its very capable from what ive seen. If I remember right just a chip will put them at around 310 HP Only reason I didnt seriously look into it was the amount of labor involved if a turbo goes. Aparently you have to pull the entire engine to replace them. :gay:

nope its not 310awhp....its only 250awhp. That would be sweet if u can gain almost 130awhp just off of a chip

y ai dont know why all audi performance places always claim at the crank..i think thats so fukn gay. when my audi was modded then i would've claimed 500+ but that would be to crank..if only it was to the wheels

they list crank hp and not wheel hp because it can change but having minor drvetrain mods and they only want to show what they can do with the engine for that package

exactly, trannies can actually change the HP output just a tad, as can rolling mass if I'm not mistaken, aka wheels and tire packages

The 2.7t is a great engine.
In various parts of Europe they've taken it to over 550whp with bolt-ons. A single turbo upgrade is the best mod on these engines (but you have limited space on the S4, and it's much easier done on the A6). It gets costly at these power levels if you don't do at least SOME of the work.
Also, the 100% stock 2001-up 6spd awd trannies, axles, driveshaft and rear diff in the S4 and A6 2.7t have seen over 1000whp numerous times without failure, making it one of the (if not THE) strongest awd drivetrains available.
I've grown up around Audis, Porsches and VWs (so I know "a little" about them, and have my reasons as to why some of them make sense to me).

Last time i dyno'd i put down 370whp and 410 wtq on 93 octane with my S4.
With 100 or 104 octane i'm able to increase timing and make a few other tweaks to get almost 420 whp and 450 wtq.

my quickest drag time so far was a 12.3 @ 114.8mph, but that was with a slipping clutch and a 1.9 60'. I feel like the car should run 11's when i get back to the track.

what else you want to know?

Unless u have a Loads of money don't bother. Mine has seen 296 awhp from $1000 worth of parts. It s a great motor, I loved my S4, the motor ran strong and the drive train minus stock clutch are basically bullet proof.
