I saw a lot of people out. Some new, some old... it was a great turnout.

Post up some of your stories from this weekend! I'll start...

____________________________________________

Well, Lankhoss and I were leaving Import Showdown cruising back home and all of the sudden I hear a BOV going off and this dude flying past me. I pay no attention to him and keep going on my merry way but Lankhoss couldn't.

Lankhoss catches up to the car and it's a turbo 4dr Integra w/ JDM front end painted gunmetal. He was running thru traffic at 100+ mph. After traffic cleared up, Lankhoss put a hurting on him, probably 5 cars before they shut down as it was a fast kill. I lined up with him from 60 and did the same by at least 4 cars. He had 2 passengers and I had one.

Then, Lankhoss and I went to do a pull from 60, and on the first honk, I saw the Integra floor it from my passenger side mirror and trying to pass us. Well, by the 3rd honk, we went and the Integra made it to my passenger side door for like half a sec before we both started walking away, lol!!

I met him at a meet one time, told him his set up looked really nice and asked him what kind of power he was making and he just replied with "enough." He later told someone else he was making 830hp.

Oh, by the way, Lankhoss walked away from me too, lol.

I got there too late to get a tech card and that was my only fun for the day.

I ran
12.4@119 with a 2.2 60'
13.0@119 with a 2.7 60'
3rd time staging; booted for no helmet:cry:

H22 Turbo Civic Hatch= spanked my butt a few times on the way home
2.3 Evo 8 on pump gas= dead even on the ride down. We ran three times and had only one true clean run. I had a passenger he did not.

Weighed the car as I pulled into the gates and tipped the scale at 3560lbs with myself and girlfriend in the car.

Needless to say I am happy with my car and had a great time.:bump:

I'll expand on the story a bit. So ILoveBoost and I are cruising at about 90mph on 75 when that car goes by and we both hear the blow off. The dude goes flying by us while we're still at 90. At first I thought "What a dumbass" and then....I just couldn't let that happen. So I keep it in 6th gear, and make chase. Keep in mind, my 6th gear is RIDICULOUSLY high...it's at 2100RPMs @ 100mph. So this guy is cruising at about 115mph swerving through traffic. At one point I get behind him, and his lane is pretty clear. So I can hear his car downshift and start revving up. I'm not sure if he was completely WOT, but he was on it hard enough for me to hear from behind at 115mph. Well, I just stay in 6th gear and push the gas down a little and end up pacing him........and I think I may have even started pulling on him a little bit lol At this point, I knew it was MURDER. So when traffic finally opens up, I just dropped it down into 4th gear. I heard him nail it before I had a chance to pass, so I just floored it and FLEW by the guy and didn't let off until almost 150mph (near the top of 4th). I have no idea how many buses I pulled on the guy, but it was ugly (actually, it was beautiful). Good times, and it's even better knowing what a tool that guy is.

True but notice I put we had 1 good run out of 3.

Run #1= he honked and I couldnt hear anything; actually didnt even know he was honking. Right as he took off I was pulling the car into gear. This allowed him to pull up a 1/2 car then we stayed even.

Run #2= he honked and once again I couldnt hear anything. He took off and I sat there.

Run #3= I think I honked this round and we had a dead even take off and were dead even till we let off.

I believe 2.3 Evo 8 will confirm this is 100% accurate.

I was there in my stock '03 Z06..it was hot and I was on street tires...not to mention I have black motorsport wheels now and they weigh 10-15 lbs a piece heavier than the stock wheels so I didn't get any good runs. I think 12.5 was my best yesterday. I usually run 12.0 @ 117ish w/ my best being 11.96 @ 118.

Anyways it was pretty fun. My buddy that went with us from statesboro (blue evo) won the AWD/RWD class again not even trying.

I think he should run MS next time for a little more competetion.

As for my car being gutted...nope. It was the exact same as when it rolled off the assembly line...I weighted it right when I got to the track that night. 3025 lbs with full interior and 1/2 tank of gas. Which is about what GM claims these cars weigh.

I never ran my black one so nothing to compare to but your weight is on par to it. The black one weighed 3050 w/ half tank of gas. My C6 weighes 3140 with 1/2 tank of gas on same scale.

One other question... why are the slower (ET) cars have higher MPH? 118 is high for a stock Z06 at the weight. Not saying it's impossible, just that most never get that high 114-116 is what I normally seen. I've seen some 124mph traps with stock C6 Z06s though, but thats a different beast.

God that vette is uber sexy. I love the black wheels.

When LEAVIN you and I raced, it was pretty damn loud between his exhaust and my car. My car is so obnoxiously loud its hard to hear anything plus he had his windows up.

He is right about the races.

Race 1 I pulled about a 1/2 car and then we stayed about the same, but if he didn't hear the horn then that makes sense.

Race number 2 he didn't even go so we can't consider that a race. I honked and on the 3 honk took off, looked back, and he never moved. lol

Race 3 was pretty dead even. I thought I may have pulled about a fender, but it was so close and hard to tell.

I would like to have seen what would've happened if I was brake boosting. :) Maybe next time I'll try.

Good runs nonetheless.

It's a combination of a lot of things...mainly driver skill, fast shifts, weather conditions, altitude

C6 Z's trap high 120's - low 130's

It's pretty common for cars to have a higher trap speed with a lower ET.

TransAmWS6

Trap speed is not how fast you are going at the end of 1320 ft. It measures how fast you are excelerating for the last 66ft. Therefore if you have a bad launch and you are slower off the line then you are excelerating at a faster rate during the 66ft giving you a higher trap speed vs. a really fast launch which gets you up to speed quicker and you are not accelerating as rapidly towards the end of the 1/4.

hope that makes sense

this is basically the same thing as i said

The trap speed is the average of your speed over the two beams at the end of the track (the first is 66 feet before the finish).
