fuckin motorcycles...
How can you justify saying that? I wouldn't call it "fuckin motorcycles..." I'd call it "Fuckin Idiots who think they can do anything and be safe"

My uncle, was doing 55mph on his heritage softail classic. Full dresser. Some bitch in an Explorer pulled out infront of him. 55 was the limit of the road he was on too. I know it was 55 b/c I was following him back to his house to help him out with some things. He hit the car it FLIPPED completely over. His helmet strap got cut on a part of the car (w/out cutting his face), as he was thrown over it. He's had several surgeries on his head now, and both of his shoulders rebuilt. He was somewhat fortunate though to land in a swampish wet area which was kind of soft.

Yet, you say fucking motorcycles. I say fucking Idiots in general.

thats really sad. but its reality. about the jokes, common people way to be mature. accidents happen, i had a bad accident on my bike in the mountains, but i wore my gear (shoei helmet, joe rocket jacket, jeans with knee pads, gloves, riding boots) the helmet saved my life because i went low side after loosing grip on the front tire going around a corner and face planted the cement. only bruises and a 350 dollar helmet that is no moe. but pictures like this should teach squids about reality. squids=people who ride recklessly with just a t-shirt, no gloves, shorts, and sandals.

i ride my bike hard but i save it for the mountains

At that point...your safety gear is counting on the rider for protection.

ive always wanted a bike, but this is discouraging. i know i will still end up getting one. i wonder how many lives would be saved if ppl just wore the right equipment and if cagers payed more attention. a safety course, that explains the dangers and shows the results of accidents, should be required to get your motorcycle license. last time i was down in daytona, i was shocked when i saw almost no bikers wearing helmets.

if cagers payed more attention.

I'm assuming that cagers means cars. Although I agree that there are a million thousand and one cars that don't pay close attention to bikes, you have to admit that most bikers aren't the brightest bulbs in the stadium. When you have bikers flying down interstates at well over 100, zipping, dodging in and out of cars, most of the time no signals, you have to wonder how they don't wreck sooner. And then they come and complain that cars don't pay attention. If a car tries to change lanes and the biker was doing the speed limit, depending on the bikers distance, it would make an ok lane change. But at the same distance and the biker is doing 110, wtf? You know. Bikers need to be just as responsible as cars.

And don't take this as a diss to bikers because, as a lot of riders know, I want a bike. Lolol. Later, QD.

^i agree. a lot of deaths can be attributed speed as well as recklessness. i think most people who buy motorcyles have a more reckless mentality than the average person. i said that, cagers(yes QD, automobile drivers) pay more attn, because i know 2 people who have died from motorcycle accidents. both from cars not paying attention and pulling out in front of them.

I was once told by someone why they repealed the helmet law in Florida. "Wearing a helmet leaves you with an untouched head in case of an accident, of course it won't do you much good if the rest of you is dead". I think that applies here.

No helmet law in PA. There are motorcycle accidents caused by cars, but 900 time more caused by bikes. I went to school with a guy that was racing another guy in heavy traffic and clipped a jeep...wiht his head. His head came off in the helmet and rolled 500 feet down the road, not highway, road. That was an interesting one.

I've seen the pics, the videos and know the dangers and I still want one. I know the difference between driving cray an safe. I mean I am known by my frineds as the person who will push the limits sometimes but I dont become overconfident. I have respect for bike riders choppers or sport. I always overlook before lane changes/turnoffs ETC. because I know that if I was riding I would want the same done for me. Even with all the dangers I still am getting one. I have respect for the bike though as someone else said it is a coffin on wheels. It is like playing with death kinda, they are very powerful machines and I think anyone who wants the responsibility to ride one is gambling with life. With all the people that dont pay attention to bikes it is a BIG gamble. I can tell you one thing when I do get one I'm not riding with out full leathers. I would rather look like a complete idiot riding dressed as a professional racer then just a leather jacket and helmet. If I do go down I would rather be covered head to toe than take a chance at risking my life even more. Just 2 cents.

There's a lot more that you have to worry about on a bike too. How about the drafts from passing cars? I don't know how comfortable I'd feel on something at 60 mph as opposed to in something.

Damn, I rode dirtbikes...and I thought 30 mph was plenty fast. As cool as it seems...I don't think I'd ever be able to handle a bike.

how can people have such disrespect by taking pictures of dead people like that? I had a buddy killed on a bike around new years a couple years back, and a lot of his friends were waiting for confirmation from the cops that it was really him, and all these dumbfuck high school faggots came over and started to take pictures with their camera phones.

people had cheap insurance because they don't get full coverage. My insurance agent said he quoted one guy on a sport bike and it was 7500 a year.

You're on the right track, but you still have no control of certain situations. The biggest killer is dumbasses in cars pulling out in front of you from a side street. Even if your going 45 MPH (or whatever the speed limit), if they pull out in front of you when your closer than 30ft there is not much you can do. You will still T-Bone them more than likely before you have time to react. Gear is great, especially if your sliding, but a helmet only provides so much impact protection. You can be the safest rider ever, but your still relying on everyone else out there.

I pay $228 a yr for full coverage (on a 03 R6). That also covers any accessories (pipe, helmet, etc) that get damaged.

Bikes are like anything else, they have thier idiots. This was an unfortunate loss. The kid was wearing gear, not just a helmet, which shows he was smarter than most riders.
