Leisa's laptop all the sudden cant detect our wireless network. She was surfing the net and all the sudden it disconnected and now when I refresh the netowrk list it doesnt even detect our wireless network. The card is enabled and on, My laptop is fine and so is our daughters (We are both connected) but Leisa's all the sudden cant detect it. I have turnd the laptop on and off, disabled the wireless car and then enabled (When I do that it detects our network for a minute till I try to connect then it cant see it) and I have done a system restore to last week, Nothing works. Any ideas?

brett mine was doing the same thing i could take my laptop anyplace and it would work but if i tried using it at home it couldnt detect my wireless connection. I eneded up calling linksys about my router and they changed my ip addy and updated my router software and it fixed it

Well like I said 2 other laptops in the house are connected to it with no issues, Its just Leisa's and it was on all day and just all the sudden started, so I know its not the router

But what is odd is if I disable her wireless then re enable it, and refresh the connection list it does see our network, But then when I try and connect to it, it then drops it and cant see any network

This happens with my Toshiba all the time now, I am going to just do a complete reload of Windows and upgrade to Vista next month. However at the moment it working (I'm on it), I just start it and hope for the best, lol.

I'm going to take my router and my laptop to bestbuy if it doesn't work. I bought both from there, see if they can fix it.

it's possible the card malfunctioned....

is it a Dell? or Toshiba? my old toshiba's wireless card went out after 1 month, but I had it replaced under warranty..I've heard of a few dell's card just failing after a few months

First thing is the idiot test. Check to see if any hardware switches are turned on, and everything was enabled. Next would be to do it manually if the last thing didn't work. Go to where you add a new network manually, and enter the SSID, password, etc. Lastly, if you're all out of options, I'd say booting Ubuntu and seeing if it works there. If not; call factory support (blech), cause I can't really think of anything else.

EDIT: Oh, you got it working. Disregard.

Try going to Start/Run and type cmd.
At the command prompt type ipconfig /renew.

If this does not work you may be having problems with your wireless card. Have you tried swaping cards with on of the other working computers?
