View Full Version : Why do so many Honda/Acura owners drive with their high-beams on?

You know is it a code or something? I'm not even talking modded Hondas/Acuras, I'm talking even stock cars and even their SUVs.

Its annoying as hell, high beams on at night or even the daytime.

I noticed Integras with the circle front ends and Accords are the worse offenders.

Why do you do it? I am curious. I figure if it ain't a FERRARI, why would I put my high beams on????

i hate when people ride behind me with their high beams on. whenever they do that....i slow down then ride behind them with my high beams on (HID AND halogen)

I think it's just the HID's. We get flashed in our TL all the time. Then I show them what bright is.

Its because people think the little blue light means the daytime running lights are on.. and they figure the DRL's are good enough for night driving too.

Also, when i worked at Toyota Mall of Ga. I would get customers who come in with their high beams on in the middle of the day....and every time i would politely remind them that the blue light on the dash means the high beams are on, green light means the DRLs were on and that high beams should only be used at night. I would also tell them that cops are more likely to pull you over for driving with your highbeams on because its 1) Illegal and 2)sign of a drunk driver.

No its not TLs and Acuras with HIDs standard. I have HIDs, I know what they are.

Its halogens with high beams on....

It's probably just that their lights aren't adjusted correctly....

That'll definitely do it. Even slightly misaligned headlights will sear your retinas.

Exactly, they are a major contributor in that.

i dont have a bunch of lights but being lifted and tires puts my headlights right in the rear window of cars or cars coming towards me flash and then i flash back and they stop

Lol, I hate that shit. I mean, I use high beams at night too, but thats only when there's no one around and I'm on a really curvy road or sometimes on un-lit highways when there is no one in front of me to scope for cops. It's saved me a bunch of times too, 0 tickets so far, I mean, I cruise at about 80ish at night so I'd get pulled over on any highway so because I don't believe in radar detectors I'll stick with my high's on, unless someones in front of me (oncoming and same direction lanes)

The only time I ever use high beams is to check for deer on a really dark road. Otherwise, I keep my DRL's on or use the regular low beams at night. I haven't seen too many Hondas and Acuras with high beams on. The worst culprits around my area are redneck Jeeps, SUV's, and trucks with their offroad lights AND high beams on - so damn annoying...
