First thing I have.. rumor is that the Falcons are seriously pursuing a deal to get Calvin Johnson.

I'm here to negate that. It'll never happen. Johnson will be long gone before Atlanta's 8th round first pick. Later, QD.

tony

The deal would put Atlanta at #2.. behind Oakland. The thing is Atlanta is not the only team going for him.

The Falcons should do like the Saints did in '99 and trade their entire draft picks, to move up and get Calvin Johnson :lmfao:

BTW, i'm just kidding...but I have heard of the Falcons wanting to trade up. They really should...

Personally I like Laron Landry more than Calvin Johnson, we have receivers if the Falcons can patch up the hole in the secondary then they will put themselves in a nice position.

As long as Calvin doesn't go to Tampa Bay like everyone is suggesting, I dont care... It'd be nice to get him, but otherwise I just really don't want to see another top pick down here in the south and us have to face him twice a year lol... We already got Reggie Bush down here in whats arguably the most competitive division. If we can't have him, I hope he goes somewhere in the AFC lol.

Calvin Johnson had 3 great seasons with Reggie Ball as QB............................. just imagine what he would do with Mike Vick. He would make Vick a better QB!

I talked to calvin the other day,High school, Freind he says he currently speaking with 4 teams. Atlanta is one of them.

i bet raiders draft CJ then trade him

HalfBaked
04-26-2007, 02:57 AM
Last draft board I saw had CJ going 2nd now.

I don't think the falcons have anything they could give up to move up to 2 and it be worth it.

If Jamaal Anderson is still around which he could be I'd be all over him. They need someone to replace Kerney.

if i was the falcons i would draft brady quinn...if u get my drift

No, because Brady Quinn isn't going to be a good NFL Qb.

If they falcons want to get a QB I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't pick up Kevin Kolb in the later rounds.

That kid is gonna be a stud.

where he from..and what bout the guy from stanford hes been getting alot of hype

i think one of the best deals in the draft is Michal Bush in 3rd round

HalfBaked
04-26-2007, 03:11 AM
Kolb was the Houston QB.

Bush hasn't healed very well. But I could see him going to a team like new england.

but they said Mcgahee would never play again, even if the (my team)bills let him go along with all the starters on the team, lol

I like how the draft is goin, except for the lions pick, they don't need another wr, but calvin johnson is one of a kind, I won't be suprised if he gets traded for a qb and a draft pick

ShooterMcGavin

^^^yep, i'm gonna be pissed if the bucs don't trade gaines adams and a 2nd rounder for cj, last thing the fucking lions need is a WR. hell in fact, detroit is where good college receivers go to DIE (career wise), wouldn't wanna wish that on anyone (well, maybe randy moss) much less cj.

Miami must be really persuing trent green to pass up brady quinn, to be honest, I can't predict if someone will pick him in the first round, rams possibility, panthers or bills

Ltdnismorace
04-28-2007, 02:18 PM
rams I doubt, they're stuck on bulger (WVU BOY YEAH), panthers maybe, delhomme has seen better days, bills I doubt too, they have JP laussen. If he falls to 22nd the cowboys will grab him.

Ltdnismorace
04-28-2007, 02:29 PM
bills did exactly what I expected, backing up Laussen

bigpimpatl
04-28-2007, 02:34 PM
wow the dolphins were absolute idiots to pass up quinn. I think Atlanta should have drafted quinn as well and traded him, they probably could have gotten a lot.

If Brady Quinn doesn't get picked up in the first round, I hope the raiders draft him. Then, I would just shop around to see who I can get the most for. In the end, both Russell and Quinn are going to be good players. I personally like Quinn more because he is a lot more polished and more NFL-ready. But Russell is just a freak of an athlete, and depending on his learning curve, he may not be ready by the end of this year.

Damn Randy Moss goes to the Patriots for a 4th round draft pick.. why couldn't the Falcons swing a deal like this? Joe Horn and Randy Moss out there would have been nice.

Cleveland, San Fran, and New England had the best drafts.

New England was the only team that Moss would resrtucture his contract for. No one else wanted to pay him $20 for the next two seasons.

Way too early for that statement. I'm sure the Vikings said that about Moss when they got him, and plenty of other teams.

Kijana Carter or Tim Couch ring a bell?

I'm pleased with the draft, hey second Jamaal Anderson lol.

in my opinion the best two grabs was detriot picking up calvin johnson and the bears getting greg olsen. how the hell did anyone let him make it to the bears? as if they werent good enough, they picked up one of the best TE around. fuck the bears.

Not even close. The Patriots, 49ers, and Browns had the best drafts.

bigpimpatl
04-29-2007, 07:21 PM
man the cleveland browns must be really happy, joe thomas AND brady quinn? I can't believe the raiders let moss go for a measly 4th round pick, he's one of the best WR's to play the game! Well i'm actually glad for Moss, now he gets to play with a team that is going somewhere and maybe this year he'll have a breakout season, now that someone competent is throwing him the ball.

You know the Patriots really are the best organization in football. I love their philosophy of "no second chances." If you f*** up once, you're done. I remember last year when one of the WR's, i think Bethel Johnson, fumbled the ball after the catch that cost them the game. The very next day, he was cut. That's what you call accountability.

bigpimpatl
04-29-2007, 07:27 PM
hmm the raiders actually got a good deal for Moss...a 4th round pick, Josh McCown, and Mike Williams. Josh McCown is OK, but Mike Williams might be able to resurrect his career after two awful season.
