Alright, I have a 1991 Mazda Navajo (2 door SUV gas drinker) sitting in my driveway. I got it from a man that really took care of it, he just didn't want it anymore. It runs really good so far, the only problem is the transmission.

I'll get in it to go somewhere put it in reverse but the thing won't move. I push the gas in, the RPM will rev up to 2 or 3 and then it will kick in (the highest the RPM will go is 6). I'll put it in drive, push the gas, nothing happens till the RPM gets to 2 or 3 again.

I was thinking it's doing that cuz it's really old. So I've been letting it warm up for a good 10 minutes before I get in it, I don't want to tear it up. But it still does the same thing. I'm going to get it looked at in a few days, just wanted to see what you car experts had to say first (I know you guys have had your share of transmission problems). need more info?? Just let me know. :D

check the tranny fluid. Sometimes it's that simple of a thing.

I have a # of a guy who does Tranny's if that doesn't work. E-mail me if the tranny fluid isn't the issue.

sounds def like a internal tranny problem

Convertor or gears are gone. Check the fluid just in case, tracy is right, it sometimes is just that simple

It is the hydraulic pressure inside of the transmission. The only way to fix it is to replace it. Ride it until it takes a shit. Let the truck warm up and it wont do it. When i say warm up I mean get good and warm where it is idle below 1K rpm.

Vaguely I think I remember someone having a simliar problem in the past with a car and I think it was the Torque converter.
