is it leaking from the oil pan, or possibly somewhere else? When did it start? Had you done any work on the car right before this leak?

Thats bullshit. Some people will say changing to synthetic will cause that, or doing a engine flush, etc. Unless your gaskets are made up of nothing but years of oil sludge this will not happen.

nah i use 10w-30 Castorol GTX.. my car ha slike 245,000 and something miles on it.. nah didn't do anything cept for that.. i jsut changed the oil pan gasket this weekend when i found out it was leaking...

unfortunetly i am no where near the position to even be able to consider swapping.. even for another y7.. i amd 15k in debt to the hospital for them saving my life.. i owe various family members aournd 7k.. i have to pay 1200 bucks every six months for high risk insurance.. and to top it off... i am unemployeed currently and just got my dl's back like not even three weeks ago...don't get me wrong i wanna do a GSR swap but not for 6 months or so

well we found where it's leaking from... rear main seal... 15-20 bucks for the part... couple quarts of 10w-30 motor oil( i think that is what i was told could be used as tranny fluid in that 5spd tranny) to use as tranny fluid when i drain it to drop it..and a saturday.......
