Ok so heres the deal.

I had a pretty nice older VW that I had an engine swap done by a local reputable shop about 3 weeks ago.

It caught fire and completly went up into flames. After teh fire department put it out everything from the front seats forward is completly ruined. It seems to be electrical but I want to know exactly what the cause of the fire was so I can know if it was something that the shop was at fault for or if it was jsut some fluke accident that just happened right after I got it back. I just wish I had decided not to wait a month before switching over to full coverage cause this just totally fucked me in the ass.

Anyways I need some kind of investigator to look at it and write a report for me. Let me know if you know anyone who can help
Thanks

btw here is a pic of the car after we tried putting it out with 4 fire extinguishers before the firetruck got there. Makes me sad everytime I see it.

Lee :cheers:Fire extinguishers aren't magic, it's like pots and pans...you still gotta know how to cook or they're useless.

Even though you only have liability did you bother contacting your insurance to see what they say? You know, that's actually part of their job...if you had then i'm sure they could have given you a dozen names of people in the area... ;)

Take the shop to court. Where did the fire start at the engine bay, or the dash board. There is no other way i don't think.

Lee...

Call your insurance company first thing. If they can't send somebody out to look at it for you they should be able to refer you to someone who can. also look in the phone book for "auto inspection". Here is the number of a place in Athens.
