Still debating but opting to take a break from cars for a while  I've had several killer project cars in mind but refuse to build something without it being done right and the absolute best of it's kind...since I do nearly all my own building & fabrication there's just not enough time in a day right now. [/whine] The project car I've decided on is going on paper with full engineering plans to see how it can be done...maybe next summer ;)

Sooo for now...looking at importing a Defender from the UK. Hahaha! I did say I don't have alot of time to work on a project right? The major differance is not only initial cost but I won't be at the track or mountains in it burning up tons of fuel and tires weekly either...time & money spent elsewhere. The Defender will definitely be original: RHD, 2.5 liter diesel...overall really basic & simple to work on. Had a Disco for years, now have a few acquintances in England, and always wanted a Defender so it only makes sense...plus it goes well with the photography gig :D

Now just have to make the decision on a D110 or 90 then soft or hardtop, ugh.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c171/ll_shprelude_ll/IMGP2745.jpgoh my, there's a Tomb Raider in Georgia?!!! Now if only I can trace that tag...

*edit*
Wait a minute, that's got a cab...they only made the tomb raider in a wagon, softtop, and double cab. It's RHD yet says V8 on the rear....now i'm all confused

they are awesome but im warning you, they are not very reliable. my uncle had a D110. also when offroading it would also get stuck in places where his friends fj40 and lada niva could easily get through, but i guess thats because of the long wheel base of the 110

All $60,000 of it?! Think they had the 3.9 liter from the '94 Discovery, which was a Buick block...i know the D90 did.

No serious off-roading or climbing at all for mine, i'm still reading up on them bc rust is a major issue...or major rust is a major issue. Trying to figure out common parts needed, etc.

no that was in brazil lol. the d110s are more popular over there, and are way cheaper than $60k (if u research a little more u will learn that the 1998+ were actually made in brazil). it was a tdi so it had the 2.5 turbo diesel. today he drives a tricked out diesel mitsubishi L200 (a small truck, i dont know why the hell they dont sell them here in the US)

D110's in the US still go for $50k used...obviously since they only had them here for 1 year. The D90's are still $30-40k. Readily available wayyyy cheaper in every other country.
