Satellite time

So I'm working on this invention that will be 100x better then microchip that is put into pets.I have all the hardware put togther and the website to link up the hardware but all I need know is satellite time. Does anyone know how you go about renting the time or anything? I need to rent it so I can test out the gps part.

you should just use cell service, Satellite uplink stuff is big and expensive, unless you've all ready got that, but i'd think if you had the stuff allready, you'd know where to dial in for hte service.

Yea I was thinking of using cell phone towers instead, would be cheaper for me and the consumer.

All the major Satellite stuff like GPS, XM radio, and satellite TV to some extent are all passive; they don't transmit anything because the equipment is just so huge. on the other hand, you know how small cell phones can be.
