What do you all think about a 1jz-gte 5-speed swap into s13. The rb is to expensive from what i've seen and the sr is to common for me, I like to be different. I can get the full swap done for around 7k so it wouldn't be that expensive. You can buy mounts for the 1jz and 2jz from 2jzswap.com and they also have shifterextensions and someone one can send your harness to and get back a complete plug and play harness. What do you think. Drop a line and tell.

they both come stock with the same amount of power and the 1j is cheaper i can get a 240 up and running for 7k. how much are td's motor mounts and are they for the trans and motor. also if you can get me the wjole swap up and running for 3k you need to hook me up in the next 6 mnths but seeing as the motor it's self is around 2200 i dont think thats poosible i might be wrong though

trans and motor $900-$1100
1jz's cannot make nearly the power and arent as strong
lol 3k would get you the engine basically...
9-11k for the stock tt 2jz swap.

yeah maybe nowhere near the power possiblities as a 2j but i just wont reliable 3-350hp and i do know tat the usdm 2jzgte comes stock 320hp but idk im not really looking for a drag monster wich is basically what the 2j is.

i was originally going to do a 1j in my 280z, making the oil pan rear sump was an issue, plus my boy gave me a good deal on my rb25 so i traded the 1j to a friend for an sr. he put the 1j in his s13 coupe. i would have helped him but he lives in north carolina. he had a shop in miami do his swap. all in all he basically put a 60-1 on it and he's making 361 horse at not too much boost, he loves it. 1j makes more power than rb25 stock. plus it's twin turbo. both are 2.5 L. 1j's still have stronger bottom end as any rb stock ring lands always crack. both come with shitty ceramic turbo's that don't last long at all, either one you'll need mounts, and 1j's cheaper........

both are good motors, and can easily make your car fast enough to put a smile on your face. all in all, i'd go with the option that will get the car done and on the road the soonest. g/l =]

For 7K you could do a nice rb25 to exceed your power goals and it is well known (lots of info and help), but not very common. talk to the guys at tophat if you don't want to do it yourself.

or

you could build one nasty KA-T with 4k to spare.
