Alright heres the deal. I bought a car that I got raped in the ass on and now i'm really up-side-down on it. Now I can't afford it, seeing as how i lost my job and all. All I need is some advice on how to get rid of this car. I really want to stay away from chapter 13 or any of that. Any advice is MUCH appruciated(sp)

Sell it and take the loss now. It's better to owe $3000 on a car than vol. repo, they auction it off and then you owe $8000-$9000 on a car you no longer have. Talk to your bank or credit union explain the situation and if your in good enough standing they should work with you to take out a personal loan to cover the difference.

Voluntary repo.
Not any better than a regular repo. In November I bought my GA and about a week later found out that I was going to be given a brand new car so I wanted to try and take it back and get out of the deal. They said I could just bring the car up there, but it would still be considered a repo and you would still owe the difference from the sale at auction. Later, QD.

How about you go find another job and keep making your payments. Seems like the manly thing to do...
Seems to me like you are upside down by 9 grand. Filing bankruptcy for nine grand is a really dumb thing to do.

This is going to sound stupid coming from someone as young as me but a easy job to obtain where you can make a fair amount of quick money is waiting tables. If you can get a day job and then pick up some nights at a resturaunt you could easily pull down an extra $200 a week working only 2 nights.

I agree 100%. I just sold a Jeep and took a $1,000 loss on it. I will happily pay that off. My credit stays good. good luck!

refinance it with another lender for like 6 year, it would lower your payments, but you would end up paying twice whats it worth.try lending tree.com and choose refinance option, they will either call you or email you their quote.dont do bankruptcy or repo, you will never get out of that hole.
