Dang... thanks for the advice. I should have known better than to be posting vids for the past couple of years. Maybe the police will actually spend their time taking care of REAL crimes like posting digitaly edited videos on the internet rather than doing petty/trivial things like locking down a campus and tracking down a killer before he kills a lot more people.
</sarcasm>
btw, even though all of my videos do not show any license plates, I could easily make a video that does and edit anyone else's license plate #'s on whatever car I want... as an arguement to your statement, you think that'd be admissible in court too?

My point is, most videos posted are edited. Granted, some are very minorly edited than others, the original raw footage has usually seen some sort of NLE (editing software) before it is posted. Rarely does anyone actually post raw footage. The same idea can be applied to pictures posted online too as well as many other things.
Its one thing for a cop to confiscate a camcorder at the scene of a street race and use the footage as hard evidence... but that's entirely different than using a digitaly-edited video of numerous different clips and effects as prosecuting evidence. Meh, just my 2 cents on it... and besides, everyone knows that all the footage I take/use is done using my special 40mph action scene tricks with the help of good editing programs.

Though there is no indication as to how fast the vehicles in the vids are actually traveling, no where in the law that defines "street racing" does it state the vehicles have to be moving at a high rate of speed. A cop can write you a ticket for racing even if you don't break 20mph, it still is a contest of speed.

true. I don't have to worry about that stuff though, b/c all my videos are made in MEXICO. The only way I could see how racing videos could get you into trouble, would be if they confiscated the camera with the raw footage. Thats why I carry a blank tape with me always

People don't race in Atlanta. It's all done in Mexico with stolen tags...
And the "racing" performed in Atlanta is all staged. All the callout's are just fronts. The "racing" is actually pre-arranged and the winner is decided before they even get in their cars. All they do is get in, start recording, go the speed limit, and the "loser" is supposed to slow down after the 3 honks to give the effect of losing a race :goodjob:

Listen, I like watching a good race just as much as the next guy but has anyone ever thought about the cops watching too? We already know the cops monitor this board frequently and Gwinnet PD’s possible sting/bust operations. You guys might just wanna watch what you post. I have absolutely no idea if it’s possible for the cops to catch a look at your tag on one of these videos, but if I were you guys I’d try to edit it out or something. I’m not tryin to stir things up on this board but are these videos not proof of illegal street-racing? If they are, I’m sure they would be admissible in court. Just thought I’d give you guys a heads up and let you know what I was thinking.
Before I go on... how do you know this? What proof do you have?
Why would anyone waste valueable police resources on paying someone $40k a year to monitor a forum for imaginary street races that 99% of the time don't even happen in Atlanta. That $40k a year police officer would bring in more revenue giving people parking tickets over catching two guys pretending to race on the interstate.
Even in uneditted footage, when is the last time you could actually read a tag?
This thread is filled with over-paranoid people who are naive enough to think the police actually monitor a message forum. Most of the people posting in the first page I've never even heard of/seen run.

It doesn't matter if they see your tag or not. They don't know when the video was shot, where it was shot, and they don't know if it was you or not. Just because your car was at a crime scene doesn't me you did it;)

Why would they do that? To give you a ticket? Did you not read anything Slowhawk posted?
How do they know it was you? Who is to say you didn't let your buddy borrow the car? How do they know the actual speed of the cars?
If I video tape another car driving beside me on 285 does that mean I'm racing them?
Some people need common sense.

i have talked to cops about this before and they said what iloveboost said. Its just practical to pay some1 to surf all day... He said once in awhile when there are several accidents/deaths as a result of street racing they might check the boards to help prevent more but its not an everyday thing
lol
Back in the day when I lived in Colorado, they had Colorado State Troopers who were ON the message boards. Of course they did it on their own time. They would answer questions and shit like that. We posted vidoe over there all the time and not even the Troopers paid attention to it. Most of them would watch the videos and comment about how nice the cars were or what not.
I can almost guarantee that there is at least one law enforcement officer who posts on these boards. In Colorado we had a Colorado Springs PD officer who used to race with us during his off time. That was years ago though.
Unless they catch you racing, they couldn't give two shits less.

I totally smoked a crown vic with police vynil and flashing blue neons on the roof. He was sooooo ricey so I flicked him off and he kept trying to race me everywhere I drove so I eventualy lost him. I think he pulled in to a krispy creme or something and gave up. I dunno. anyway, I walked his azz.

Oh you too? Yea i think i know that guy. Last time I raced him he brough his gay friends but luckily I had NAWZ and i caught the BP drawbridge just right so i just boosted and jumped right onto 75 and was gone. Luckily I had my shocks turned up or I may have hurt my sweet bodykit when I hit, air ride FTW.

:goodjob: they can use a tape at the scene, but tapes can only be used in court if it is known that the person is being recorded. they may win, but not likely. the cop would have to let you know he is recording to use it in court. i had an aff duty cop film me on 85 one morning, got my tag and all and guess what. he couldn't do shit. i would still be weary since we have the patriot act now.
