Mine are not plastic, Its like a leather feel, I think its leather but maybe its not, but Id think plastic would be to hard to have your hands wrapped on everyday. I have nothing about mine that I dislike, Its much better then the factory wheel

i have a sparco wheel in mine, 320mm w/a momo mounting hub and quick release/spacer on top of that. mine is suede and it's really all preference. i kinda like the suede, but also like leather wheels if they are thick enough.

I have a Momo on my '99 Miata that I autocross. Momo offers a number of variations but I prefer the "race" style. Be sure and buy the hub adapter if you buy a aftermarket wheel.

another piggy back question on the thread.

for those of you who has aftermarket steering wheel.. Don't you feel unsafe b/c you are missing air bags?

Man my car was so unsafe it didnt bother me (removed front & rear bumper reinforements). An airbag wouldnt have done me much good in my old ride. Thats just one more reason why I parted it out. I couldnt have my family riding in such an unsafe vehicle.

well i didn't have an airbag to start with... and my car has a 6 point rollcage and harnesses so an airbag won't do much for me anyway ;).

^^^ Hey, Thats whats up!!! I was thinking about it myself but I kinda like the idea of an airbag but then again I've been accidents and the bag deployed and that shit hard like hell.

I liek the Pilot that looks liek teh momo apache, because teh bottom is flat, makes it easier to get in and out...much easier, specially in the sol. 100 bucks even with wheel and hub kit. not a bad deal IMO

after getting knocked the fuck out by an air bag i've never liked them sense...a 4 or more point harness PROPERLY installed and no airbags...you never see a F1 car with airbags or any race car built with the best safety in mind.

Keep in mind it is "illegal" to remove an airbag equipped wheel, but enforcement is not very poular.

Just keep that in mind if you have a lot of runs ins with Johnny Law

I know air bag hits you hard, but without airbag, I wouldn't be alive right now.

safety first... And no, you can't compare your regular rice honda to F1 racer car. big no no.

don't you ever dare to insult me or my car like that...hahaha. who said anything about a regular rice honda??? i'm actually talking about a 300 hp sports car. i must be confused...and i didn't say just F1...any race car or any car designed with safety not convenience as a prority in design....

but to go further...a 4 of 5 point harness along with a properly installed cage is much safer than a 3 point harness and airbags. think about the statistics, people die in racing but look at the crashes they are in, but also look at what they can survive vs. what a regular car can survive. you see a lot more race car drivers stepping out of a 100 MPH crash than you would a regular car...

but give me some examples and i'll be glad to consider your point...i just don't understand it right now and can't think of a single time when an air bag would be better vs. a harness and cage.
