Overheating devil of hell

So my car overheated recently, not to the extreme but. normal driving tempurature is normal, but upon slowing down and idling after a drive it reaches the H. So..i got a new thermostat put in and a new water pump installed. Bleed the coolant system, new coolant, + redline wet wetter, about 70-30 water/coolant. I also removed the clutch fan and put in a maxima dual fan. after all was done....my car warms up to normal in about a minute on cold start....then after a short drive like 2 minutes, temp reaches to H. bloody hell. Its a stock Ka24de in a 240sx. I dont see the white smokes coming out...so anyone think of a reason why it would overheat? :( help plzz rep given :]

blown HG or fan not kicking on but with it getting warm that quick, i would go with the HG....

but i dont see any white smoke coming out so i kinda rule out the hg problem....i looked into nico and some of them said to do a radiator flush or a new radiator? or something about blockage of coolant?

and i'll see about that pressure tester. thx.

your heater core may be stopped up, causing the coolant not to circulate. easy test. let the car warm up. touch the upper and lower heater core hoses (located on the fire wall, towards the middle yet of on the passenger side of the fire wall. if one is hot and one is not, your heater core is restricted/clogged. easy fix, you can bypass the heater core and just connect the two heater hoses together. professional fix, replace heater core. if both hoses are hot, that is not your problem.

same thing happens in the hatch i jus bought but it's just random and it doesnt get too hot but still pretty hot and i can smell something( i think oil) then it cools right back down i also replaced my thermo and my hoses... it still does it and fans work.

yea my fan kicks in as soon as i start teh car, i wired it up to the ignition switch and a manual switch that i can turn on and off at will.

I believe both of the upper and lower heater hose is warm, i turn the heater on inside the car and it blow warm airs. Im leaning toward the clogged radiator and maybe the radiator cap, since i believe it came out of a honda or something. i havent done the compression check yet, hopefully my hg is still good :\.

Any more suggestion?

Bad temp sensor or temp guage. Did you put the thermostat in backwards? If your head gasket is blown you won't always get white smoke out of the tailpipe. You can however get WAY too much pressure in the cooling system and blow a hose soon. Check the coolant for oil or any kind of dirt. Also go on www.freshalloy.com for any further 240 tech questions. They have more information about the 240sx than any other site.

thanks everyone. I did a compression check and all cylinders comes out fine. after that I took out the brand new thermostats and run it a bit to let the coolant flow freely. and the temp is great now. no longer overheat. Im guessing the system was clogged. and the temp is down to a quarter on regular driving. :D.

yea...im planning to put the thermostat back to restrict that flow >.> im just happy that its not overheating :\

Just gut the spring and valve of the thermostat, and let it warm up a little longer in the morning.

its a airbubble in the system. 240's are notorius for getting air in the system
