View Full Version : Friggin'...who's good with HTML/Myspace layouts?

I'm trying to set up my own layout and lay my own code. I've got it looking pretty decent, I think. But I can't seem to get my border to set up right!

This is my profile:
www.myspace.com/jokertyper
(If you click and it's "private" give me about two seconds to unlock it

I'm trying to get the borders around the text similar to this:
www.myspace.com/timothydooley

Someone feel free to show me the code that can get that transparent-like border around the text and such, it would be appreciated.

I'm really into cars and hanging out with friends.

With cars I do non-competitive mountain runs with the Vortex, and ImportAtlanta. I absolutely LOVE those organizations; they're my family away from home.

You may have seen me on Importatlanta.com, VWVortex.com, Honda-Tech.com, ZDriver.com, ClassicZCars.com, SIAtlanta.com/ImportLounge.com, and ToyotaNation.com. My name on all of those is EvasiveEF9. Formerly known as JokerTypeR.

I build cars. I sleep in and on them, sometimes next to them, I've done swaps, upgrades, runs, and soon to be racing. I'm also contemplating BUILDING my own car with it's own design. That won't be for years to come, though. It'll be built primarily of parts I have stored away in my basement. Basically, I know alot about cars. I don't bullshit or lie, I only advise on what I know. It makes me appealing to the car communities. I'm one of VERY few honda guys that is accepted by other car-manufacturer enthusiasts. I build for performance and love, art, and science of motoring...I'm not really much into show.

I'm into pretty much everything I can be, mostly including mischief. Just ask Selena about that one. I stir up alot of trouble. You can quote me on that...

This is my primary project car. She's given me hell. I won't list all the parts in her, but let's just say she's well into the thousands. Through some of these you'll see the progress made. Her name is Shadow. She's my true love, and the only love to not let me down.

You may ask yourself how she's earned the name of shadow; a name is earned, and never just given to a car.

Shadow; as defined by Dictionary.com:
4. shelter; protection
6. a specter or ghost
7. a hint or faint, indistinct image or idea; intimation
12. a period or instance of gloom, unhappiness, mistrust, doubt, dissension, or the like
13. a dominant or pervasive threat, influence, or atmosphere, esp. one causing gloom, fear, doubt, or the like
14. an inseparable companion
15. a person who follows another in order to keep watch upon that person

Put this together and you'll have the true meaning behind how Shadow earned her name. She wasn't meant to be anything more than a temporary car. Everyone made a mockery of her, and even I called her a piece of shit. She originally carried the name "Pimpos" denoting "Pimp Piece of Shit." But despite everyone's mockery and hatred for the car, from out of the shadows stood the silhouette of what would become the platform that I would build on. A platform where dreams swarmed. As she's been built, she has been my protector as I learned to drive, and the fundamentals of motoring. She is now looked highly upon by all that have seen her run, and well recognized among many forums, and organizations, and private builders, and serve as a model to other builders of the same car. No one knew she could be built to what she is. And no one can fathom what she will become.

You think you've got it all figured out? Think you understand what my car means to me? Think you understand the dedication? You've got no idea. It's got more time in it than you could imagine, more blood than you've ever donated, and probably more money than you've paid for your car.

It all started with a pipe dream. I couldn't have hated the car more when I first got it. But then I started to dream...

The computer system and electronics in the car had to be updated. So out came the old OBD0 system, and in went the new OBD1...

Are you lost, yet? That's just the start...

The old motor, although healthy, just wasn't quite strong enough. The 1.5L SOHC DPFI motor came out...

And in went the newer, stronger, 1.8L DOHC MPFI motor...

In the process of all the work, my mom has the urge to kill me, sometimes, as I destroy the garage...

I wanted more stopping power, so the old brakes had to go. It had 9.5" rotors in the front, and drum brakes in the rear. Those were ripped out, and in came the rear discs and 10.3" front rotors, as well as the prop valve, master cylinder, and brake booster...

Then it was time to put in the NEW dash out of a different car...

There's alot of dissappointment and fighting that go one between myself and the car, as I have lost much blood, and suffered much pain and injuries while working on her. Including the car falling on me twice, dropping a transmission on the edge of a metal square-beam on my finger...the list goes on forever

So there's alot of trouble shooting that goes on to get it right. This particular shot was about 1am, and we'd been working on it for about 8 solid hours. Maybe more. We'd spent about 3 just trying to get it to start...

In the end, we found out I had just forgotten to tighten up a wire. But that wasn't discovered until I made a few mistakes that ended up in a 3ftx3ftx6ft flame thrower...

In the end, it comes out to be well worth the pain... Two products come from such a project like this. The car...

And a destroyed garage...

Sometimes, though, I get a little more than I'd bargained for...

Even still...the tuning and maintenenance never ends. More mods to come...all in good time...

Soon, a new project is coming. Hopefully, she'll be arriving soon. End of April is the expected ETA:

Thanks for reading. I know you came here looking to find out more on me and less about my car. But you see...as of right now, the car is pretty much my life. Very soon I'll be spending much time at the track. I hope now you see why my car means so much to me. It has many hours, cash, blood, sweat, dreams, hopes, and wishes invested in it. Never has it let me down, unless I've let it down. It's the one thing I really cherish, right now. When I have a significant other in my life, again...my life will then be divided. But...until then...you see where my life is. I AM however eyeing a girl. She's cute. She's sweet. She's smart. She's TOTALLY different. And this I see as a good thing. We'll see where things lead...but I do have my hopes.

I'll soon be making a myspace just for my car. It'll get all of my car stuff from here, and I'll have to find interesting stuff to put up on this one...maybe even about me! LoL. Standby for updates. Announcements will be made.

A little bit about me

For a brief thing about me, I'll just list some things you should know, or things that are awkward about me...

First off, I HATE the word "bye" or "goodbye." I hate the word bye...it means "forever farewell." Maybe it doesn't have this meaning to you, but I hate hearing it! You'll RARELY hear me say it. And if you ever say it, you'll usually see me pause for a minute before replying. If bye is forever, I don't want to hear it or say because I don't wanna see the end of my friends. I always look forward to another day with them. Thus, the word "bye" CANNOT be "good." So therefore, you can't have a "goodbye". I friggin' hate it. There's many other things that can be said like "later" or "see ya" or "catch you on the flip side." Don't say "bye"...please?

Second, I DESPISE my knees and/or elbows being touched when they're extended. You probably WON'T ever touch my knees while they're straight as it has become and instinctive reaction for me to bend it when touched. I don't know where I picked up this habit, but I did. My elbows? Sometimes you'll get them. You'll also never get the chance to put pressure on my fingers while they're straight. Finally, my belly button. I CANNOT STAND IT. Freaks me the crap out. Usually takes about 2 or 3 people to get to it...but please, don't try. I really can't stand it, and it makes me feel like absolute crap after someone touches my belly button. It might even have me rather pissed off at you...

If you EVER touch my throat, don't be surprised if you find your ass on the ground. I'm NOT a fan of it, and instinctive reaction has had me throw someone on the ground for it without even realizing what I'd done. It just doesn't work for me...

If you ever end up on one of the infamous mountain runs, DO NOT freak out. You freaking out only scares the shit outta me and can cause me to mess up.

Actually, if you're EVER in my car, don't freak out, or touch the stuff that hangs from the driver's sunvisor. If you ask, I may tell you, but otherwise, just leave it be.

I've got a couple female friends. If you're a female...don't be intimidated. When I use the word "friend," it means they're a friend...nothing more.

DO NOT try to pressure me into a relationship. INSTANTLY I will start looking for things wrong with you. It's happened before...

Actually, don't pressure me into anything...I don't like being forced to do stuff. If you really want me to do something, call me a chicken (when appropriate) or suggest it. DON'T try to blackmale me...

Don't lie to me, either. I friggin' HATE liars.

If you're looking for something to do with me, I play backyard baseball, and football, I skate, ice skate, enjoy clubs, loud music, concerts (duh), and ANYTHING adventurous. Rafting, hiking, cliff diving...whatever. I also enjoy relaxing stuff. Billiards, movies, or just a movie with someone to cuddle down with. Be creative, or keep it simple. I can usually turn anything into something fun...

That's all I've got for now...

By the way...I don't think anyone will really understand this except one person...so I'm gonna go ahead and post it. Just for giggles to be shared with the person on the inside...

Hope you enjoy it

That'd be awesome...

Like I said, I'm still learning. I already see alot of editing I need to do, and taking out unneccesary crap from that code...just was too tired to do it last night.

What's to know?

That's my buddy, Tim's, profile.

If you look at where the text and stuff is, he has it all bordered with a transparent "black" background. I'm trying to get that, but can't....
