Yea so i got busted 18 over in a 40 in Cobb. Im 20. What should I do (except not speed!hehe)

I just got a 49 in a 35 in cobb.... My fine was $99. Honestly if I were you just find out how much the fine is and just pay it. I wouldn't think anything would happen to you though unless it were more than 24mph over.

First thing you do is scrape your GIRLIE IMAGES sticker from your car, seeing as how you may not be driving it for a while. That is, unless, you are of age where they won't take your license. Lolol. Later, QD.

Just call the number and find out how much it is. The fine varies depending on how many past tickets you've gotten for the same thing. But the regular fine is usually $120 in cobb.

justine what you need to do is take a defenseive driving school class...that will knock up to 6 points off your license....when you go to court or if present it to the judge tell him that you are very sorry...and it wont happen again.....

It'll just be a hefty fine... your not gonna lose your license... or atleast you shouldn't, i think the law for under 21 years old is 23 and over and you lose your license.

I've received two tickets and on each one I went and talked to the solicitor and they always dropped it to 10mph over with a small fine. The main thing is the ticket never goes on your record.

Offer to do some community service
and if u have to, plead nolo.

listen to tony, i have no points on my record from any speeding tickets. go to court early, talk to solicitor, pay the fine...but get the mph dropped to 14 over or less...no points.

Given all the laser that local police employ, I wouldn't waste your money on a radar/laser detector. All it will tell you is when you are screwed.

just pay the fine, im pretty sure 18 over is only 2 points anyways, i believe 19-24 over is 3 points. invest in a good radar detector and dont do more than 15 over that way you can slow down pretty quick. my bel vector 940 has saved my ass from laser plenty of times. you also have to know where to speed and where not to, look at the flow of traffic if people are hitting your brakes or if traffic all of a sudden starts going the speed limit, always look ahead. don't speed where you can't see ahead of you, like cresting a hill or going around a corner. don't lead the pack of cars and don't be the last one either.

but also there really isn't any need to speed. i drive 10-15 over the speed limit if i'm going to speed.

Just go and pay the ticket. Ask the judge if there is a way you can have them not contact your insurance company. I got my first ticket for going 80 in a 55 by the airport. I'm 27 and this is my first ticket. I'm sure I'll find a way and I go on the 14th. When is your court date and maybe I'll find some information for you?

go in the first day of court and find out whats going on. im pretty sure theyre just going to have you pay a fine seeing that youre 18 and it wasnt 23 over unless you have other violations against you. it never hurts to take a dd course before hand and have that handy for you.
