Hey guys...

I just bought a car from someone in SC. I was given the title (signed) and had him sign a bill of sale (not notarized). I need to get my car registered, setup with insurance and tested for emissions.

How am I supposed to ride around if I don't have the tag yet? Write up a sign saying 'tag applied for'?

Please let me know. reps for advice :goodjob:

1. call ur insurance company asap, it takes 5min to add a car to your policy
2. u have 1 month to get a tag and do emissions and stuff. u dont need a sign or anything, just have the bill of sale in the car when u drive it

get insurance, you have 30 days to get a tag. i would get emissions asap and a tag if i were you i just went through this,i got a car from a guy in NC and it would not pass i put more than a 1000 to get it to pass and it turns out it has a salvage title in GA. your best bet get it done now. dont wait. you will get pulled over even with card board sayin tag applied for and no tag is just as bad. good luck.

tag applied for will get you pulled over more frequently than if its blank. There is no such things as Tag Applied for because you get it at the office when you ask for it lol. Run with it blank, or put up a sign stating the date when the 30 days are up.

DMV office in forest park 10mins u get title right then and there...just go there and save ur self the hassle...also emissions and tag u got 30days... any paper signs for tag will get u pulled over....u have more luck driving around tag less and not get pulled over

All you need at title office is your title...no need for notorized paper work
