Lol no way, Lotus engines are way less reliable then Rotaries, along with the electronics. They used to have the Lucas electronics in them and he was nicknamed "The Prince of Darkness" cause Lucas shit never worked. Lights would go out, flicker and all types of shit. Thats why there was a Lucas 3 position switch.

I'm assuming some kinda protective coating on the windsheild that absorbes/deflects impact from rocks etc.
