hey guys, i'm thinking of importing a RHD vehicle from Japan. I wanna know what kind of process do i need to go through in GA in order for me to get a tag from the DMV and the insurance. I know some of you here might own a RHD vehicle, please let me know. thanks :D

Call a state rep. Call the insurance company, and call the DMV.

I could type you 3+ pages on the proper process of importing a vehicle but there is still no guarantee it will work and it could cost thousands up to $1+ million (for safety testing). If you want me to be more specific I can give you links to all the forms BUT...

The best and most reliable way i've seen so far is avoid all of the above and register in Canada and transfer the title to Georgia. Doesn't seem to be an issue to register a car there then there is no red tape involved to transfer the title to here. I'm still working on the details.

or better yet just buy an imported car that's already registered and save yourself the trouble.

Or you can register it in Alabama as a kit car.... just have to buy some property there...
