reason they look awkward to you guys is because the main basis for the front is being reversed... This is gonna sound silly, but it's true... as far as the front ends of cars go, sports-based designers are trying to get away from their cars "smiling". You notice the more aggressive headlights? They're trying to keep the agressive look going all the way down the "face". No angry eyes and a smile. People are used to seeing the smile. BUT, I can almost guarantee that two years from now, if you check that car in the lineup of other cars on the road, it will be the best looking one out there. DesignWorks (the firm that works with BMW on design) has been setting the auto trend for years with BMW designs.

but just to drive my point home, here's the new M3, smiling at you instead of frowning, thanks to photoshop and my awesomeness. Looks better to you, right? Because it's what you're used to seeing. Granted, BMW probably should have done a design a little more like this... consumers generally dislike radical changes on an already established and successful design.. they should have done something like this, then morphed it over the course of a few years to what it is now. Probably would be better accepted by the general populous.. but anyways.. I'm done. :)

I actually think the e92 looks pretty sick. Looks mean and aggressive. The E46 styling is hot no doubt but its old and out dated.

A step back from the E46, but it's definitely the best looking of ANY of the Bangled Bimmers thus far. The new Z4, 5's, 7's, and even the non-M 3 series are just hideous. But Capt._Ron speaks the truth: E30 M3 = sex on wheels.

BMW started losing their purity to the posh crowd with the E46. The E36 M3, E39 M5, and M Roadster/Coupe were, IMO, their last really great cars from an enthusiast's standpoint.

Put a set of 20" BBS mesh wheels on it. Lower it a little. Lose the chrome on the front grill, gloss black or same color as car. Will look alot better then the 46.

Someone needs to photoshop the car.
