i remember when the rumors stared to pop up , "dude with the VR4 got hit by a truck and he died" or something.

What really happened? Where did the accident happened? If you don't mind sharring. Never heard the real story.

Glad you are alive and kicking bro!

Location: Conyers - Intersection of 138 and Centennial Olympic Parkway (the road that the horsepark is located on for those that have been to shows there).

An 18 yr old kid (in that white, 17 ft box truck pictured) ran through a redlight at that intersection at 60mph and hit me on the driver's side door. I died on the scene (twice), had to be airlifted by helicopter to Atlanta, and stayed in a coma for about 5 days. I spent 30 days in the hospital.

That's about it, really. :)

Chest/Sternum/Ribs - I "feel" it when the weather changes. Arthritis of sorts. My left shoulder hurts at various times as well.

It wasn't the intersection so much as giving the keys to an 18 yr old Jr. High dropout.

I have never seen him, spoken to him, or gotten a "get well" card from him. I instructed my father to never give me his name (for the kid's safety). It is better that way.

I didn't sue "them" as they had no money. They were poor and had no real assets. I sued their insurance company for the max of their policy (you can't go higher than their max coverage). After I paid my lawyer and paid some 3rd party medical bills not covered by my medical insurance, I didn't get all that much.

congrats on being alive, some people arent so lucky in situations like that

Actually, no. I didn't get nearly enough to buy a Porsche turbo with the money that I got. I just want to clarify that before rumors get started (and they will I am sure).

i heard those rumors, but i know after you go through something like that, there isnt a lot of money left over, medical bills are alot, and if they only had like 50k coverage, you actually end up losing ALOT of money, its a tough thing to go through.

i know they arent true, but i meant you upgraded in a way

Yes, there are always rumors by people who don't know what really happened or something along those lines. I think that they forget that I am a 29 yr old man (was 26 at the time) who makes a very good living (ie, I don't work a no-end job) in the professional business world.

My medical bills actually pushed $200,000. :( The insurance of the person that hit me was nothing close to that. I had to use my own medical insurance to pay the majority of my bills. It was $9,000 just for the helicopter flight, alone. I know that it was around $80,000 just for the 5 days in the CICU. I then was in a normal room for 25 more days. Include physical therapy, testing, etc, and you tack on even more money. It sucks.

I fell into that category(not spreading, actually. Just thought to myself that) about thinking you got the car from the accident. Until I talked to you. Later, QD.

Thanks. The rumors still suck, though. It makes having the car very hard at times because of that.

I didnt read the last page until after I posted...

I deal with insurance matters everyday and I CANNOT STRESS enough that each of you do your research and carry enough insurance to cover yourself fr these situations.

I think it should be a state law to carry 100/300/50 at least in liability coverages, and for your own sake- carry that much in uninsured motorist coverage as well.
