I just bought this car today. I had to drive it home with only first gear, wouldnt shift.... motor is strong, but tranny has some wierd noise coming from it. I am not one with the Nissan smarts. The guy I got it from just put the tranny in it, about 2 weeks ago, paid almost $500 for the trans., and it doesnt work. BLAH!!

pull a part got them for like 50.00, just be sure to find a wrecked 240 or truck cause its certain the car was driving when it was wrecked, its pretty simple to do on them cars, just make sure you lock your converter in all the way when you go to put it back together or ya wont have any forward gears

Where is this pull-a-part place?

and I think that is what happened when the old owner put this tranny in.

one pull-a-part is on buford hwy, get off 285 and head out of the perimeter, about to miles look for a huge sign on the right, its yellow and got a chick on it, it says pull a part, the other is on moreland ave. i dont know which way your coming from, but just get off at moreland (the 285 moreland, not I-20) and stop and ask someone so ya dont go the wrong way

add the clutch pedal assembly, run all the hydraulic lines from the master to slave cylinder, install slave cylinder, install master cylinder, do the trans swap, get a 5 speed trans and crossmember, change the flywheel to a 5 speed one, you can use the auto computer because it wont interfere with it....be sure to install a new pilot bushing in your flywheel cause the auto ones aint got them
