he's run 9.9 twice now... once in qualifying (9.9@150mph) and in the next qualifying round another 9.9@149mph. but they disqualified him until he builds a 10 point cage and gets his drag racing license to run 9's or better.

Drag racing license? thats the first I've heard of it.. where do you go about getting one of those? Oh well, I still got another second and some change to knock off before I need to even consider one of those. Those are some nice numbers he put down.

you can do it at a NHRA track. you must run a back to back 9 sec pass to get ur license....but he's not going to run 9's in commerce... the track needs to be prepped

it's all NHRA BS... i can understand the safety cage requirement, but the license i see as just lame. if you do it once and don't die, then you can probably pull it off again ;).

i love how they have to tell you that you know how to run those times, its just a way for them to make money is all... i wonder if he will ever bother with a 10 point cage...
How much does the license cost? I thought when you run 11's you have to put a cage in anyways. So he has to take the cage that he has out and put a 10 point cage in?

Not sure on the cost of the liscense. If you run 11.99 and faster you need a 5 point rollbar. I believe its really only good to 10.99 then you need a 10 point certified cage although a lot of tracks don't really say anything about it until you are faster then 10.00.
Peter runs an S@W 8 point bar. You can just buy the front 2 points that go in front of the dash.

We need to go to silver dollar or south georgia, take the VHT with us and git ur done! Also i believe the car needs to make only 1 9 second run. You get 3 runs i beleive so you can just idle the car down the track if you want the 1st 2 runs. I remember a guy i know with a mustang recently got his 9 second liscense and commercea and the first 2 runs he just did easy runs then ran a 9 on his last run.
