so last night me and a buddy went out last night. Hes got a Black SVT focus hatch and its relatively stock except for a catback and a intake and some european shit on the car since its more show than go. anyway last night he had a headache (hes diabetic and needed some food) so i was driving lol.
we roll up in dultuh and this hatch with fogs gets on the SVT's ASS. at this point im like OK...what the fuck. so i take off at the light when it turns green and hes still on my ass (so close i cant see headlights) til 30. traffic opened up a little so i hit it to 60 and he wont chase..a few miles up the road, we stop at a light and i take off like normal since i didnt think he would run with a kid in the car. All of a sudden, i heard him hit vtec and bark 2nd so im like hmmm...lets see what the SVT will do. he took about a car and a half off the line so i was playing catchup. By the time i hit 95 we were dead even and he went into 5th and i just kept pulling him til 110 when i shut it down with about a car and a half.
We headed back toward my house and we roll up on a blue 95 EX with exhaust or so i thought. Kid had his girlfriend with him so after beating the hatch i figured this would be a little better race. we did 4 pulls. one from 20-120, 30-120, 40-120 and 30-100. the only time i didnt put ATLEAST 4 cars on him was the 30-100 and i was letting off.
We pulled over and talked for a bit and he had a LS swap with LS tranny. I figured with a LS he would have pulled the shit out of the SVT but i pulled him EVERYTIME. Not trying to brag but could it be just him not knowing how to drive his car or there being something wrong or should the SVT pull it? Same thing with the hatch..i thought a vx hatch with a b series would have had more pull than just in first when he jumped it
any thoughts?
