How in the fuck do you "Successfully" get a great launch on a turbo'd AWD car?

Dump the clutch @ 5500, Feather it, WTF!!

I don't want to Burn up my clutch or rip out the drive train so how do you guys do it?

:Lets DISCUSS:

from what i know, you should not dump the clutch. i ease off mine but not necessarily ride it, rpms are usually at about 4500 for me. (3k vr-4)

From experience, don't dump it, you'll just bog down. In my STi I rev to about 4,000 and let fairly quickly, but not dumping it. Launching AWD will eat your clutch unless your making enough power to break traction on all four contact patches. In a FWD/RWD drivetrain, the tires are the weakest link in the drivetrain, so they spin. In AWD cars, since there is so much traction, the clutch becomes the weakest link.

Yea dont dump it...i hold it at 5500-6000 and let it out till it starts to grab then quickly release it...useally spins the front tires saves the clutch and the transfercase....i cut around 1.7-1.75 60ft....60k miles stock transmission/transfer case first upgraded clutch, 100s of launchs....

^ that pretty much sums it up. The way I like to describe your clutch foot is to remove it from the clutch as if you had just stepped in a small pile of dog poo. You don't pull it off as fast as you can but you get your foot out of it quickly...

I usually launch around 4500krpm. I like to floor it and have it sweep past 4500k right when I let the clutch out so that I'm in boost. I get a little wheel spin and Ideally I feather the gas so that I stay right around 4k-5k.

Ya just gotta try it...

Its also good to have some kind of 2 step to build some boost

i usally do 4500-5k launches. and al i do is, once im ready to launch i let off the clutch alittle until i feel or see the car move and not bump but quckly but smoothly let off the gas....

back when i had my stock tires, i would spin my front tires alittle.. haven't launched it with my new ones.... but thats how you launch it on an Impreza... a MaszdaSpeed 6... not sure...

do yall have transfer cases..? if so ask some Evo drivers. but im sure Phil already helped you out on that.
