WTB: 12-16" rims; considering any and all

Yeah, I'm not being picky. I want some lightweight wheels to put some expensive rubber on for cheap. Basically...wheels for the track and mountains.

I'll considering stock wheels, but I'd like to have them widers than that.

I don't care about color or (for the most part) condition. Just as long as they're sturdy, light, and get the job done.

Post picture(s) and asking price.

I don't really have any use for the tires since I don't have any other 16's... so they are basically going with the rims... 215's would definitely go better on the rims though. I will get you weights tomorrow with and without tires (one of the tires is completely bad/cut, so I'll get it pulled off).

yea i think theres 12, they are all in my mom's basement lol so i dont have a pic. i believe they are stock 13" steel wheels. i know there is atleast 8 but im pretty sure i have 12.

They aren't really light... they are about 21-22 lbs without tires or ~40 lbs with tires.

Google for widened steelies. They are popular with the VW guys and you can get them in a large variety of sizes for pretty cheap.

I remember seeing a site that would sell them directly, but for the most part people take their steel wheels to a wheel shop and pay $40-$60 per wheel for them to widen the wheels a couple inches. They are lightweight, cheap, and can be significantly wider than stock so that you get a greater contact patch, which really helps in the corners.

I don't have any experience with Hondas, so I couldn't really tell you what would be the best fitting size. I would run the widest wheel & tires that will fit. Get the smallest diameter wheels that will fit properly around your brakes. The only problem with this is that when you have a wider and smaller wheel, it is more likely to hydroplane because its lighter and has more touching the road at once.

Edit:
There is one more thing. The wider steelies will weigh a bit more than the OEM steelies since there is more metal on the wheel. So in this case, the wheels might make acceleration a little more sluggish than if you ran OEM steelies, but it will give you a lot more traction in the corners.

Well, I also upgraded from the stock 9.5" rotor in the front to the 10.3" brakes, so I think 14 is as small as I can go, and that'll be tight. However, putting a 14 on there would somewhat restrict airflow getting to the caliper, I would think, being that close. So I'm thinking 15 or 16. 16 would allow a wider contact area, but 15 is less weight. And trust me...being a 92hp civic driver, formerly, I know about needing to keep all the speed you can in the turns, LoL. I used to run blue ridge all the time with modified VWs. If I slowed down to much for a curve, they gave me a friendly hello. Was slightly annoying to both them and me and first, but I started getting better with turns, and now I actually pull away. I can't wait to see what'll happen with the new engine in it :)

I'll probably just buy rims from diamond. For the price and weight, I could modify a steelie, or just buy one from diamon and it would be about the same...it'll just be built that way instead of modified that way.

And no worries. These rims I plan to have for warm sunny days at the track and in the mountains only with a soft compound wrapped around them. Not for DD or in the rain.

About 100$ a rim, though. I'm looking for track-only, so I need them cheap. Diamond's got 'em for like 60-80$ a rim, but they weigh in at about 16-18lbs a rim...

Win some lose some. But I know if I get it TOO light, it'll be hard to track... That, and the diamond's are a wider rim.

How will width of a tire change my acceleration? Any idea?
