Well I bought a spare valve cover from Pull-A-Part a few months ago in hopes of painting it wrinkle red. This is Duplicolor Gunmetal Wheel Paint with a clear coat.
I've been waiting on my paint from Summit for about 2 months now, so I thought I'd go ahead and do it to match the heatshield.
It took about 2 hours from unbolting to installing it and cranking it up.
Sorry for the cell phone pictures, I didn't have a camera tonight.

Gets it to cure faster I guess.
It let me handle it without hurting the paint or clear cost in less than 30 minutes.

i guess if you're in a hurry, but then why paint if you're in a hurry
theres more chance of fucking something up with the moving of the VC and possible burning, id say play it safe and let it dry on its own, but to each his own i guess
oh, and did you use a spray gun, or rattle can?
but yea, its looks good man

I've actually cooked mine also. it helps the paint cure better i guess. havent had any problems with it except for the first time we didnt clean all of the old oil of the under side of the valve cover and the whole house smelled like burned oil..lol...
when i was readaing on honda-tech on how to do it it said to bake it so thats what we went with..
looks pretty clean...

Thanks everyone.
And Hulud, I edited the first post. It's Duplicolor Gunmetal Wheel Paint, with Duplicolor Clear Coat. Rattlecanned that bitch.
I had a friend sandblast it. I sprayed one layer of paint on it, and baked it for 20 minutes. Let cool, then sprayed the clear coat and baked it again for 20 minutes. Let it dry, put the gaskets on, and installed it.
Who knows, I may get him to blast the other cover, then when my paint gets here, I'll play around with it a little more. With two, I can just swap and play anytime I guess.
Oh, and heat-wise, it was only at 200 degrees.

Nice...practice makes perfect :goodjob:
Personally, I think you left it in the oven too long. I usually leave it 6-7 minutes, but if you left it 20 and it worked out fine and didn't burn anything then :goodjob:, i'm pretty sure that really cured the paint
