I am in the process of re-painting my intake tubing, it used to be chrome but i sanded most of it off. My friend sprayed it black, using heat resistant paint made for engine blocks, it made a good color, but is noticibly weak, and feels almost stickey even days later. So, what would you recommend I do to get the best, most durable, and good looking paint for the tubing? thanks.

If you don't want to polish it then any rattle can paint will work, just make sure its cleaned with paint thinner, acetone, etc. or any non-oil based cleaner [not mineral spirits]. If it was properly cleaned and sprayed then it will be ok...light coats and wait 15-30 minutes between each.

what color do you want it?

wheel paint would work and they now have satin black...

You don't need high heat paint for intakes but you could always use exhaust wrap if you wanted to insulate the air...if it's a hot air intake without a box then insulating won't really benefit.
