What: Drag Racing (competitions and test and tune)
Who: Any vehicle (import, domestic, bike) is welcome!
When: April 28th and 29th
Where: Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA
Cost: $10 gate entry per person (race or watch) plus $20 for a tech card (to make passes).
Whether you run test and tune or decide to compete, the price is the same.

Overview
The Import Showdown returns April 28th and 29th at Silver Dollar Raceway.
The Import Showdown is put on by volunteers from Georgia DSM. It is a non-profit event where 95% or more of the funds raised are put into the event. If you haven't made it to an Import Showdown event, you don't know what you are missing! If you have been, well you know you can’t miss it! The Import Showdown is one of the southeast's hottest and fastest growing sportsman drag racing events. Our event combines fun with well thought out competitions! We also offer lots of test and tune time for those who just want to make open passes and not compete in the competition. We can even arrange for you to make custom passes with the opponent of your choice! (more info about this can be found on our website)

Last fall we drew a crowd of about 200 racers and 1200 spectators. We paid out and gave away over $3000 in cash, prizes, and giveaways over two days! This event appeals to everyone, whether you just want an opportunity to make open passes during test and tune time, compete in the actual competition, or just come out and watch and support an awesome event, we have everything for you in this family friendly environment!

This event is open to everyone! Any vehicle or bike, import or domestic is welcome
to make passes as long as they can meet track safety requirements; you can run any setup.
Competition rules are based on tire choice, power adders, number of cylinders, and some other factors. Please see our website for competition rules and classes.

yeah the black one is fast, but the blue one is insane, he'll be out and after losing to mike(Gastrokers DSM) last showdown he really wants to win, but like u said when u have a car that powerfull u cant expect too many passes before it breaks, now, is it enough passes to make it all the way through? thats just somthing we'll find out on the 29th :goodjob:

constant Test n tune. but when it comes time, they will set up the competition. it will be the far right 2 lanes. you will qualify 2 times to get ur best time. the top 10 or so best times. then they will use the Pro Tree and it will be heads up. winner takes all.

We never heared them say Showdown cars to the line, we where taking the car to do a pass because we changed some stuff out.

We get to line and there like we have being waiting for you, we had NO ICE and the slicks where at 12psi.So if you saw i was trying to let out air while the car was rolling to the line,we knew we where done for the day at that point. one slick was at 5psi the other at 10ish...

It was my first time ever trying to run my car. I was running Kumho MXs and was just hoping for 12s. My first run I cut a fairly decent (I guess for those tires) 2.1 60', but missed third, bounced off the limiter a couple times, and still pulled a 12.7 @ 116 I think (then I later realized I only hit like 16.5psi - I usually run 18-18.5 on pump gas). I thought I could do better, but ended up with a couple 13.3s @ 119 after bogging once and spinning another time =P (2.5 and 2.6 60'); although I shifted better on those runs. I think with some practice I could hit lower 12s on real street tires, and 11s on something decent...

I had fun but it was super hot, and now I have a left arm tan from waiting in the staging lanes.

Yea i had fun running all motor class... Time for some cams and head work! My nitrous bottle would not get warm cause it was so hot out{ i know that sounds odd} so my nitrous times sucked.. Still got a 13.5 motor and a 12.9 on nitrous. I could hook good all motor but on spray my 60 foots went to shit. I think my highest trap was 114mph spray and 104 motor... I placed 3rd in all motor with a mostly stock h22..not bad.. Damn k20 crx out lighted me , what i get for sleeping at the tree... I out 60' him and out trapped him. I just couldnt pull enough at the end...

I had a good day though and the car was pretty consistant on the times. My mph was consistant around 145-146. I turned the boost up a little and the car went 149, but didn't help the time at all. The car just wasn't hooking up yesterday.

As a bonus to second though, my kids thought I won the piston cup (See "Cars" the kids movie) so that was all I needed to end the day. Congrats to the buick guy though. He turned the boost up in the finals though as he was running slower than that 10.11 all day. :goodjob:

...lol ok. we were racing heads up... whoever crosses the finish line first.... also, ask the officials who had the highest trap in our class. and yes, youre right i was running 13s all day. i made 8 passes with most trap speeds in the 105-106 range...
