That bike is definitely too big for you. How about a CBR F4i? Its not ugly, and not slow. Decent starter bike as well.

Try a Kawasaki ZX6E (older bike)

An 01-03 gsxr600 would be good. My buddy's sister started on one of those and she's 5'1. Just lower it a lil bit.

Way too much power for a beginner. Like all race-replica sportbikes, a ZX-6R is a much more difficult bike to learn to ride well. An ideal bike would be a 500cc bike (Suzuki GS500F or Kawasaki EX-500) or smaller.
The Suzuki SV-650 or Kawasaki Ninja 650R are also acceptable as first bikes... but you'd better take a beginner's riding course or something before you swing a leg over one of them.
As for used bikes....
Craigslist, cycle trader (including the cycle trader website), and local motorcycle message boards/forums are the way to go.

that kawi is an awesome bike, iam torn between that bike and an 06-07 r6. ive been riding for 2 years man and one thing i know is, dont buy a brand new bike for your first bike. because your gonna lay it down, prob just loosing balance at low speeds, but still heres just my 2 cents: get a used bike, either an sv650s (what i own) or a cbr600f4i. the sv's are awesome, super light weight, super torque, plus cheap. look on craigslist.com under motorcycles. youd be surprised how cheap some people sell some nice bikes.
