yeah but if u go to an autocross or roadracing scca event they all think that drifting is retarded

I think that would depend on who you ask...

I'm just getting into SCCA road and auto, but I still think drifting is cool as hell. Yeah, it takes skill to navigate a course keeping all 4 firmly stuck to the pavement with weight transfer and all that crap, but at the same time, navigating a car SIDEWAYS is pretty badass, too. If I ever get a FR chassis, I'll be learning how to drift, as well. I know how to, and I KINDA can...but I'm by no means competition-worthy.

Then again, I think I'm more into cars than your average sex-feind. If it's got to do with making a car do something, I'm all there. Unless of course it's pointless stuff...like...for example, I like having a nice-looking car, but I'm not all that much into show. It's fun to see what some people have done, but some people do some pretty stupid things...

Actually the National SCCA sees drifting as an opportunity to grow it's membership and they have been extremely open to drifting. We have every bit of Nationals support. They have been super nice and helpful. Our Middle Georgia Region has been treated with total respect and extended total commitment from National. Our local region, although small, is looking forward to hosting this event and several more this year. All of our members are committed to offerring the entrants a great event with friendly personalities. Please come give us a try and decide for yourself. A lot of hard work has been done to get to this juncture and we want to make this a great event. Hope to see you there.

thats just some random people, i have gotten overwelming responce from the National office, and other members at the National Convention, they all cant wait!

And SCCA is not new to Santioning Drift Events, we have santioned Formula Drift since it started, and talks to start a SCCA ladder system to get your FD licence thru the SCCA Drift Series has already started :)

but a hint would be, you might want to go to all the SCCA Drift Events you can get to :D, because it may start as early as this year, but most likely next season.
