There is a small car lot in Macon on Columbus road that has a 2000 GSR. The car is white w/ black leather interior. There is a 4 or 5 inch scratch on the corner of the front bumper on the driver's side. 3 small dings on the drivers side fender and a scratch on the passenger side mirror. Other than that the car looks great. The paint is still glossy, no clear peeling.

The exhaust, wheels, ride height, stereo etc looks to be completely stock. The only thing on the car that is changed is the Acura emblem on the front of the car (it's red which I believe came on the type r's only?). The dealer is asking $8250 which is about $1150 below KBB suggested retail value. This has me a little suspicious :???: Not sure if there is a reason or maybe he's just trying to cut a fair deal since it has 2 scratches/3 dings. (But a small used car dealer cutting a fair deal?). I've never dealt with Georgia Automotive, nor do I know anyone who has.

Just curious about you guys opinions
 or  lol

Thats a pretty fair deal for a car with that mileage. Little cheap like you said.

RUN A CARFAX report on it to make sure its not a salvage title

Open the hood and along the fender edges see if you see the VIN# on a sticker on both fenders and front bumper...If not, its been wrecked/repainted

looks like it will be a while before I get one. At least I know I won't be buying that one. It's been hit at some point... hard! at least that's my guess. The tail lights have been changed, that's the first thing I asked the dealer about, he couldn't/wouldn't answer. There is a gap above the tail light on the pass. side. A few bubbles and things in the paint. Biggest thing I noticed once I got there and actually looked at the car was the passenger door doesn't align right, it's off just a little bit. Just makes me think there's been some serious body work done, since there were a few other things that didn't seem quite right. the first time I saw the car I was sort of excited I'd found one like I wanted, for a price lower than usual, but now I know why :(

Of course after I asked the dealer about the tail lights, etc, he eventually said if I have any more questions or want to drive it he'll be inside. and he was off.

Look in the fender wells for any overspray where its been repainted. Also look on the inside of the drivers side door sill and compare any info there (such as engine size etc) to what is in the car. Look for the sticker in the engine bay that tells how to route the serpentine belt and it should have some more info about the engine. The engine code should be on the block where you can see it. You'll brobably have to wipe it off to read it. If the dorr doesnt align right then the frame rails are probably bent. Also look for rust as that can be a sign of major damge that wasnt repaired properly.

:goodjob: thats what i do when i buy a car.. and i run my finger between every panel, i can usualy feel if its been repainted or replaced with a OEM aftermarket fender or w/e.. and offcourse run the VIN

The vin is posted on the autotrader link (just click the picture). There was some overspray on the seals glass. It's definitely been repainted. It's cool, the search is still on, just gotta get rid of my other car since I was planning to trade it for this one, now I've got to sell the other before I can get anything. (Get more for it that way anyways).

thanks

x2. Running a finger in the gaps, if you know what you're doing, is the best way.

..and fuck KBB. I go by that Black Book.

Carfax says that it rolled in an accident. So I'm thinking it got jacked up pretty hard. Dunno bout you, but when I see that, I don't bother about persuing the car any further. Just my :2cents:
