Friday night I filled up before heading to Evasive's Shindig. I filled up at Shell, and since then from a slow take off, my car has had a miss until i get above 2k Rpms.

I didnt notice any trucks there refilling the station, so I'm assuming that the shit in the bottom of the tanks wasnt stirred up. Maybe I just missed them? Or does shell have bad gas?

I hate when my car fucks up, I never had this problem until I filled up there.

Where is a better place to go? I've been told NOT to go to Quick Trip as well. Any arguments there?

Thanks I just want my car to run correctly :(

I dont buy from any OLD or very small ghetto gas stations...always have bad experiences.... I love racetrack, chevron and qt.......

if its a ghetto chevron or racetrack, forget it

noticed small gas stations have bad filters or water in their gasses

QT gas is gauranteed, so I am sure they are not stupid enough to degrade their gas in anyway

Usually back home, I'm used to Sheetz, and Country Fair. I know BP and Sunoco back home also have very good gas. I'm not TO far from a BP but its out of the way for me usually.

Any other input? thanks fella's

Shell & Exxon uses way too much detergents in their fuel. I've seen numerous high HP cars detonate on the dyno... ((SHELL & Exxon)) I only run BP or Chevron. Occasionally, I'll stop by Phillips 66, but that's only because he sells VP Fuels

You can't water down gas... gas comes from oil, and oil and water don't mix. IMO, BP by far has the best gas. QT and Ractrac buy there gas from the cheapest vendor they can that day, that's why they always have the lowest price. Costco sells BP gas....(shhhhh no one is supposed to know).

My 1.8T is happy with any gas I put in it. My moms Audi A6 would pretty much stop running if you put in anything but chevron with techron. So we always took it to BP.

chevron with techron is the BEST gas for a high performance car unless you can find above 93 grade ;x

Ummm no it's not. BP and Chevron are completely different. BP's premium gas is
actually refined a step further than anyone else's. If you pour some out you'll see it's clear, not yellow like the others.:goodjob:

Yeah I just meant to say is that it was picky about what gas we used and if we used anything but chevron with techron or BP it would run horribly.

For that matter what makes you think you can talk down on me? Why should I give you any credibility?

It is possible to pump water in to your car, just unlikely. If any water gets into a fuel tank it will settle to the bottom..(they don't mix). The pumps sit 5-6 inches off the bottom of a tank (typically 92 in diameter). Once there is 3 inches of water in the tank, by law it has to be shut down until it's pumped out. So a good station will not let it get anywhere close. Also, some stations use filters that one drop of water hits it it will swell up and stop the pump from fueling any further. Any corporate store water WILL NOT be an issue. Some of the independents...well if it looks shabby on what you can see, imagine what you can't.:2cents:

Once again for the people in the back of the class.

just because it doesnt mix doesnt mean it can't be in there.

Echonova
03-06-2007, 05:39 PM
just because it doesnt mix doesnt mean it can't be in there.

True, but you would be pumping straight water at that point. Water doesn't ignite or like being compressed and you wouldn't make it 5 ft from the dispenser.
