Project: Fool Parents ( Sentra )

Here is my little 92 Sentra SE-R. Its my DD but I wanted some more power. I just got it and knowing how I am, my parents said to LEAVE IT ALONE. Keep it stock so I have something to drive on a daily basis. I was like yeah, yeah, yeah, and I did keep it stock for the first week then bought a sr20ve frontclip, behind their back lol. So then I let the clip marinate for a while since this swap had to be done ASAP so it would not raise suspicion. So in the mean time I got some nice NGK's, oil, juicy Royal Purple tranny fluid and a stage 3 unsprung clutch. The sentra disappears. Just as suspected my dad is like "where is the sentra". I told him my 2 week old paintjob is being wet sanded. So now I only have a couple of days from start to finish, plus going into the wiring blind as every one else goes with a much different rout. Anyways it fires up and I take it for a spin etc, then my dad tries to trick me by saying "so what kind of project are you doing with the sentra". I told him I was changing the alternator, while in the mean time the sentra was running but was dirty as fuck, so if I brought it home that would make my wet sanding story BS. So today while they were gone I washed the sentra real nice and even got black magic on the tires. I have everything looking bone stock, and the new engine is more quite and smooth then the previous motor and just purrs like a kitten keeping everything working as before even AC. So they came back a couple hours ago and my dads like "Wow that paint looks great!". LOL mission accomplished! Anyways the price you pay for more hp, and vtec lol. Yeah that's right, shit's got vtec! Which cracks me up when I hit it. "maaaaaaaaaaaaaa…. BLAAAAA"! But yeah, when you hit it, its does not accelerate any faster, just becomes louder lol. First time I hit it, I was like "Oh shit" shortly followed by " Ah.. shit…..". So after I washed my sentra today, I figured it was worthy of taking pictures of, so here is my sentra.

Yeah most of the guys on the forum put down put down 180whp with intake and exhaust then 190-195whp with cams from the sr20ve's little brother, then 200+ from the sr20ve n1 cams. Theres a guy with n1 cams, intake, exhaust, header and crank pully that put down 227whp. So I was impressed with the power they are making out the ve's from basic boltons so I bought one. So at 2400lbs, it makes a fun daily driver. :)

They say the price is anywhere from 1200-2500, but I must of lucked out since I got a front clip from jhot for 1150. So adding $300 for clutch and fluids, put it at around 1500. The ones on ebay are motor sets missing miscellaneous things for 1200+, so if you are interested in the swap, I would highly recommend waiting till Jhot got another one.

Great. This is probably motor number 15 from Jhot, and all of them worked flawlessly. Their motor sets come with everything needed, plus they sell them for cheap. I know alot of people avoid motor sets, but if jhot had a ve motorset and clip, I would have rather taken the motor set and saved me the time taking the motor out the clip.

Nice build. I used to be able to hide stuff from my parents but then my mom started looking for used WRX wagons and called me out on the larger scoop, foglight covers, and painted headlights. She knows about the performance mods but didnt ever notice the exterior mods until she started looking at them online.

hell yeah!! i'm doing the exact same deal with my parents, only i've only started doing more minor stuff. my dad has gone as far as to say i cannot even take off the mudflaps.. so you might think im totally screwed, but the best thing is he's VERY VERY VERY stupid about cars, right now i have a shortshifter, and intake on, and thats it, but a header is going to be on soon so i'm not so sure if that will pass.. also i have coilovers in the mail, ill drop it an inch for standard daily driving, (he wont notice lol) and for moutain runs slam it down farther. i'm just glad he doesnt know a damn thing about cars.
