I had a customer come in this morning and wanted a basic ported box built for 2 12" MTX 9500 2.5cu@34hz the face is braced in 3 spots but you cant tell from the pics in a bronco His box was stolen but they didnt steal the amps he just got the 9500 shipped to and should reach me today. He is running 2 jl1000's i will have some pics when i get them installed, they should beat pretty hard.

I like these slumpy ass boxex but I;d never sell to any of my customer ,just for the simple fact I DONT like swapping out subs every other week
but with that being said ,,i'm sure she's gonna knock!!!!!

i use winsid on all my box's ive built and double check my math even after i get the plans, and tune according to what the customer music need are for .I just dont buy 4 pieces of wood and slap a box together and have not had anyone blow subs in a box ive built unless the sub was just bad or due to the customer going behind me and turning up the gain on the amp after i set it correctly. i go by the manufactors spec and if tehy want a lil more boox i might make it slightly larger to get a lil more low end but nothing crazy. i would have made the box higher then the port would have been slimmer, but the customer need a low box and what you make lower you have to make wider.

I dig you...and I wasn't bashing (I wish I understood the math to make and dial in boxes),,but with that port and my customer in-abuility to leave the fucking gain alone ...I would be replacing subs left and right

I tell this little story to most my customers ""hey if you leave that amp set where I left it these subs should last as long as the car does""
and consistent as fuckin gravity the brothers(yes thats right black ppl) always bring back blown up subs!!!! while my crackers & essays never come back with problems -for the most part-,,why cant my brothers leave the fucking gain alone
I thought of this prolly 4-5 years ago ,,,they should have what a would call "dealer lock" were we the installer / dealer has a key that locks a pleaxi door that goes over the Db/gain..yotta yotta yotta control???? what'd you guys think

I used to use clear silicone, then mark it with Sharpe. It is easier to remove if you need to readjust or if they change equipment. You can also see if the costumer pulled it out and messed with it themselves.
