a couple of days b4 christmas they picked me up from tutoring (i sucked at algebra 2) in a white G35 and told me that it was mine or as some of u would say they are letting me drive there car, either way its the same.
so wait, you got the car for being good in school (which i have to agree with qd on that issue...that's a responsibility as a kid, not something that should be rewarded), but yet your parents had to get you a tutor because you sucked in algebra? a little contradiction, don't you think?
that's cool your parents bought you a car & all, but i have to agree with everybody else...respect it or it's going to end up wrapped around a tree & you're going to end up in the hospital or morgue!
a little off topic, but you guys are young so i have a question. why do all these kids now feel the need to grow their hair long & shaggy & put a hat on, but leave their hair all fro'd out around the hat? i'm only asking because i noticed the guy on that cardomain site in front of the white bmw. my dad used to wear his like that back in the mid-80's...is it coming back now??? if so, it needs to go away again because it looks retarded! just my :2cents:

You said you were 16 so I am guessing that most of the people in your "club" are the same age. Which would only stand to reason that it is only a club that is sponsored by mommy and daddy customs. Cause there is no way a 16 yo can afford any of those cars on their own.

Honestly, we don't really have anyone to impress. From what I've noticed it's the kids with the lesser cars that feel like they have to go around acting crazy to impress people. Also, I really don't see a teenager's maturity level being much higher 6 months later as apposed to now.

Umm, no one was with me or around when that happened. The road was very open for that, and the guy had a radar/laser detector. Honestly, the Elise is an awesome car, and I enjoyed running with one in as controlled an environment as possible on the street. No different than if I were to see an F430 on the street. It's a performance car, with great brakes, going fast in a straight line. Not the most dangerous thing of all time.

Well, please do respond. I'd like to hear what you have to say. I'm not trying to justify what I did, I'm just saying it's not the something to be considered terrible. I was also responding to your comment on me trying to impress someone. That had no effect on my actions, and I merely posted about my experience because it's a fairly unusual race, and I thought I could try to bring something to the forum, as apposed to mindlessly responding to various threads.

so a radar/laser detector makes it safe??? no, it may make it so there's less of a chance of you getting caught by the cops, but that doesn't mean it's safe.
& as far as a "controlled environment", no street race is done in a controlled environment. a controlled environment is at a track with rules & paramedics & professionals, all that, not 2 cars on a road that looks empty with a radar detector. i'm not trying to bash you or anything because lord knows i've played around on the streets a few times, but i didn't have the invincible attitude that you guys have & i didn't try to justify it as safe or "controlled" to a bunch of people who were just telling me to be careful.
by the way, quit trying to use big words...you might hurt yourself thinking that hard :blah:

see im not the only one that thinks you are already dumb as fuck... track and street... dont have anything in common, track has barriers for dumbasses like 16 year olds who think they cant hurt shit to run themselves and only themselves into... unlike other cars that turn onto a road with your punk ass racing on it...
Ex_Vtec_Girl
07-01-2005, 05:40 PM
does anybody remember (either last year or the year before) the guy who took his "new" supra with dealer tags still on it up to commerce & slammed into the wall?
yeah, that was a controlled environment, but he still messed up & lost his car, which was a shame because insurance probably wouldn't cover it, but that just shows you if shit like that can happen at the track, then what the hell do you think happens on the streets???

i just can't stand kids who think their invincible! i've known too many people to die in car wrecks, not even from street racing. then these kids get on here & try to justify it like it's ok...apparently, they've never lost any friends in a car accident!

Please re-read my post. The radar detector comment had nothing to do with safety, it was the fact that the road was empty, with no intersections or places for people to pull out from. I understand it's not the track, that's why I stated it how I did, as controlled as possible. Lastly, no one said for me to be safe, they just got on my case. I find it rather hypocritical, as most of you people are still quite young, and few can honestly say they've never done anything on the streets. As far as "using big words", that's honestly just how I do things. I obviously don't speak like that all the time in person, but I have a rather broad vocabulary, and find that composing a response properly is more mature and appropriate than typing in internet slang.
Ex_Vtec_Girl
07-01-2005, 05:46 PM
i never said i haven't ever done anything on the streets. if you re-read my post, i specifically said "i'm not trying to bash you or anything because lord knows i've played around on the streets a few times", but all that stopped when my friends started dropping like flies in car accidents. i guess that's what it will take for you guys to realize that what you're doing is stupid. hell, 2 of my friends who died in cars weren't even racing & the roads they were on were pretty damn straight...they both still managed to lose control & hit trees, both of them in integras, which were not exactly fast. 1 died a few minutes after impact & the other split the car completely in half & both the driver & passenger died on impact.
like i said, nothing we say will change the way you guys act or what you do on the streets...it's going to take you losing people close to you before you'll stop.
Scrappy
07-01-2005, 05:48 PM
you are still dumb, broad vocabulary or not... guess you dont get it, track has no intersections, nothing to jump out in front... BARRIERS... and other safety... the empty street has trees, animals, and many other things... move on, and as far as the young comment... 20 is not near as young as one not even "permitted" to be on a damn internet site, been through plenty of shit, plenty of friends lifes are gone from street incidents...

Vtec girl, my comment was not directed to you. I know the track is the right place to go, and I'm looking into doing a DE at Road Atlanta in the fairly near future, but as of right now, I don't have the money. Also, when I said lesser cars, I meant NON-enthusiasts driving non-performance cars, yet driving them as if they were, e.g. pushing theirr stock, under-braked, shot suspension economy car through a turn. I respect enthusiasts of any kind, whether their car is nice, or fast, or whatever. I can also respect anyone that actually worked and paid for their own cars, my comment was directed at people who both got their cars given to them, and don't care or know about cars. I apologize for anyone I offended.
also...isnt there an age limit that a few here dont meet for the tracks?

Well, I don't come onto a forum to stfu, I guess I need to go back and re-read my post, but from what I recall I meant someone who has both a car along the lines I described, AND is a non-enthusiast, i.e., someone who wouldn't even care enough to be on these forums.
