Hey everybody im looking at getting a blue pitbull puppy at a real good price. But my question is. Does anyone know if there is any kind of ordanince out for any breed of pitbulls in dekalb county? I stay close to memorial drive in decatur. I tried to call the county and they left me on hold forever. I heard they where legal from someone but had to have a insurance policy on them and they had to be muzzled when let outside? can anyone help before this pitbull I want is sold?? thanks

Yep big law was passed, bout damn time to.

I think one of the laws is if it's outside (not in a fenced yard) or roaming around it needs to be muzzled.

that is all u need and if it is a small fence then over time get the elictric fence so he will learn to stay away from it. the wayu tran ur pit is how it wll be when it get older. if u want it to be people friend then keep it around peolple. if not then keep it around ur family only and do not baby the pit. it will still try u later in life. just make sure the pit know u are in control and dont hit the dog. sorry so long

i know that there is no problem in cobb county.. but i know if ur renting a lot of property owners will not allow them.. or if ur in a subdivison.. my apt complex doesn't allow them...

they tried to say the county didn't but i got in touch with county and they said there were no rules in the state of ga that they new of..

but property owners can make whatever rules they want to.

u guys dont no shit there isnt no law all u needa do is train him good. there is no law at all no muzzle no electic fence or any of that shit. all you gotta do is train him well and make sure he isnt mean. let him play with dogs go 2 dog parks. give him alot of attention and make sure he interacts with alot of people. you should feed him eukanuba or bill jac. you can get both from petsmart. eukanuba is a healty diet with alot of vitamens. bill jac is a fat food for him to get buff it adds healty fat. there is also a frozen bill jac which is the best food he can eat. you should train him to be nice and if you need help go to pets mart or professional shit. so there isnt no laws at all you can go ahead and get your pit. make sure he gets dewormed, parvio and rabies shot. or he will get really sick.

^^ also as a puppy, take him out places, have him around PEOPLE and other dogs and everything, dont isolate him. My sis has one and we brought him out everywhere. We've had him with us at racing events and the dog is just fine and loves being petted. Some owners just suck at raising them

Id get one of those plastick hands too or when he's a puppy grab at his food when he is young so that when he is older he does not get defensive if someone tries to mess with him while he eats. Raised my pups like that and they have no problem with people messing with them while they eat. My grandmothers dog would bite your damn hand off if you got 3 feet from him while he ate.
