The best way for me to put it would be... you call somebody a "Dun" or as i like to call them "Duhn" if they are a friend or comrade of yours...

In more depth, "Dun" is often refered to as a language that originated in QueensBridge(Nas, Marly Marl, Mobb Deep, Cormega, MC Shan, CNN, Lake).....
It originated in the early 90's... Words that begin with the letter S are replaced with the letter D to create words that already dont exist...
IE: Doopid, Dolo, Duhn...

But "Dun" is most commonly used as a QB way of saying "son"...

well maybe to you since your not from QB... but just think, the word "dun" was created over 10 years ago and is still being used everyday by people around the nation... pretty damn cool if you ask me... its not like alot of the other slang terms that got corny to say after a while... such as fo shizzle, shawdy, ect...

catch my drift dun ??

I found the "behind the terms" meaning for this:

Part of the Queensbridge version of the "Dun" language in which words that begin with the letter S are replaced with the letter D so long as it doesn't create another already existing word. Other examples of this language are the words: dolo, doopid.
