i own one right now as well, zero problems

when i get a laptop for college this summer, its gonna be between mac and hp based on how the new mac OS turns out.

pretty sure mac is gonna win out on this decision for me

i work on both dell and hp desktops and laptops. I dont see much of one having more problems then the other. Then again , i work with business computers. I have several models that i prefer and have built nicely and work great. pm me. im using a HP NX7000 to write this message, but i also have a Dell laptop thats pretty damn nice too. It's personal preference.....

I'd go with a HP as well. I personally find them about the same build quality as a Mac.

Get a dell.. just don't get Vista... It sucks complete ass. Wait a few years for programs to be designed for it.

Or build your own for cheaper. It's easier to build a computer than anyone thinks.

LoL, I thought this thread was going to be about "hooking up" with someone through the computer.

I have a Dell Laptop and have had zero issues from it for nearly 3 years. My Dell desktop has been running strong for 2+ years.

For my next desktop, I'm going to build my own from New Egg.

u can't buy a new dell without vista... i work tech suppt for dental software.. and we've told all our users not to get vista till windows works out the bugs...

next thing we know they've got a new computer with vista..

why?? because windows has a contract with dell... and other companies as well that any new computer they sell has to have vista on it....

I wouldn't put Vista on my computer right now if you paid me.Why is that? Have you actually used it for more than 5 minutes to make a fair assumption? I've been running it for a couple of weeks now, 0 problems. Works as fast if not faster than XP, sure it uses more memory but I have 2 gigs anyway, so I don't really notice. A lot of people that downtalk Vista, I've noticed, haven't really used it.

I've played around with it a little. I'm happy with XP, no reason to change right now. And I'm a patient person, an OS is not something I feel I need to have immediately. Once the bugs I've heard about have been ironed out and it's been out for a while, I may get it on my home computer. My work computer is #1, not my decision and #2, has far too much important company information to mess around with. Not that it wouldn't be secure, but if it did have a bug, being down or having problems would make a big mess for us. Seeing as we are a software company, I'm sure we'll get it sooner or later when IT thinks it's ready.

Hmm. Maybe you don't notice how much it degrades the quality of the video. Windows Vista purposely resizes it to a lower resolution in order to deter people from ripping the video. :(

you are a dumbass

why would mac only be good at surfing the net... :blah:

mac has the best media editing software out there come on now... garage band is one sick music editing program that comes with it.

plus you can create another partition and put windows on it if they have games or software you want to run that mac does not support.

mac is a way more powerful system and doesn't have big brother watching your every move like microsoft.
