Got My First Ticket

Yesterday I got my first ticket on I-85 going south. It was an 83 in a 60. The state trooper told me he wouldnt put it in the construction zone and that I also wouldnt lose my liscence, but does anyone know how much this is going to run me. Also how many points on my liscence. I guess it's time to invest in a radar detector.

When you go to court and go before the judge , stick your hands down your pants and all in the peanut butter. Pull your hand out, look at it, then start licking it off..... promptly followed by you pleading insanity.

I have no idea who your talking about.

I talked to one of my friends and he had the choice to pay a fine or lose his licenses for 10 days and take a class. So I'm hoping they'll give me the same option. I was driving a 4runner so it wasn't like was trying to race someone on the interstate. Since this was also on the interstate and not a back country road I'm hoping they'll go easy on me.

Dont worry dude, just around a 250$ ticket and some points on your license. You probably dont even have to go to court, just call the number on the ticket to see how much money you owe, pay the money thats it.

ya it will prolly be like 200 somthin bucks dont feel to bad i got two today and one like a month ago..... its sucks i might loose my lisence....i dont ones for layin drag speeding and wreckless driving!!! the laying drag and wreckless driving wasnt my falt my throttle stuck goin around a corner and theres a bunch of sand all over the road and it spun around befor i even had time to do anything! but the cop was litterly next to me when it happend but he didnt belive about the throttle but i mean come one why would i do it right next to him? but o well g/l with your ticket

Most all speeding tickets you can pay for w/ out going to court unless it's over like 30 mph. Anything under you should be able to pay the fine and be done w/ it but you still get points on your driving license which is bad because most jobs these days check for points on your license. Staying out of trouble is a good thing. Now if you got a DUI, or accident, possession of drugs, you would have to go to court lol.

personally i wouldnt, cus honeslty wat judge is gonna believe "the throttle stuck"??? worst excuse ever, even tho it was true. thats would be some major gaysauce if you lost yur liscence. another reason why FWD FTW!!!!1!

rather than investing in a radar detector, try slowin your ass down! its free and gauranteed to work.

if i were you id go to court and try and get the speed reduced so maybe it wont go on your license. be prepared for your insurance to go up if youre young!

my ticket for 22 over was like 140, nothing that big, don't know how many points and honestly don't think GA even really cares. I had around 9 points on my licences when I was 17 and never lost my D.L. As long as you don't get caught doing 24 or over then you are fine.

I'm pretty happy because it wasn't as much as I expected it to be and I now do the speed limit way more often. Slower speeds=more gas.

It should be near $200 bcuz I got a ticket long time ago on I-316 for going 85 in a 55 (30 over) and mine was $251.
So yours should be a bit under.

This is the realization that I came to as well. I now drive a car with a smaller, less powerful engine and drive 5 over the speed limit max. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in years (knock on wood).
