ATLANTA'S INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW CELEBRATES ITS 25th ANNIVERSARY!

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show will celebrate its 25th Anniversary when it returns to the Georgia World Congress Center on March 10-18, 2007.

"The Atlanta show has definitely grown and prospered since its first event at the Congress Center in 1983," said Shayne Wilson, President of the Metro Atlanta Automobile Dealers Association. "Our show floor is almost four times larger than it was 25 years ago. The Atlanta show is now one of the 10 largest shows in the United States, with over 600 new vehicles on display from 40 different manufacturers."

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show is also the largest automotive event for the Metro Atlanta dealers, featuring a wide variety of styles, including luxury vehicles, economy cars, sports cars, exotics, limited production cars, concepts, convertibles, vans, light trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles.

The following manufacturers will be exhibiting at the Auto Show:

ACURA, ASTON MARTIN, AUDI, BENTLEY, BMW, BUICK, CADILLAC, CHEVROLET, CHRYSLER, DODGE, FERRARI, FORD, GMC, HONDA, HYUNDAI, INFINITI, ISUZU, JAGUAR, JEEP, KIA, LAND ROVER, LEXUS, LINCOLN-MERCURY, MAYBACH, MASERATI, MAZDA, MERCEDES-BENZ, MINI, MITSUBISHI, NISSAN, PONTIAC, SAAB, SATURN, SCION, SUBARU, SUZUKI, TOYOTA, VOLKSWAGEN and VOLVO. The show will also feature an impressive selection of special vehicles, including concept cars, debuting vehicles, exotics and specialty vehicles.

To date, the following concept vehicles are scheduled for display: ACURA ADVANCED SPORTS CAR, ACURA ALMS RACE CAR CONCEPT, FORD BRONCO, FORD SHELBY COBRA ROADSTER, HONDA ACCORD COUPE, HONDA REMIX, SUZUKI BASECAMP, SUZUKI "HIP-HOP."

At this time, the following debuting vehicles are scheduled to be on display at the show: CADILLAC CTS, FORD ESCAPE, FORD FIVE-HUNDRED, FORD FOCUS, FORD FREESTYLE, FORD SUPER DUTY, LEXUS LS 600H, MERCEDES BENZ GL 320 CDI, NISSAN ARMADA, NISSAN PATHFINDER, NISSAN ROGUE, NISSAN TITAN LONG BED.

At this time, Marvel's Spider-Man and Wolverine of the X-Men have been set for weekend appearances.

The Amazing Spider-Man will appear at the show on Saturday, March 10, and Sunday, March 11. The world renowned web spinner will meet and greet his many fans from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. each day.

Wolverine of the X-Men will appear on Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March 18. His appearance times are from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. each day.

The Ford Motor Company will be bringing in Atlanta Falcon football stars for appearances Chevrolet will also bring in NASCAR star Clint Boyer. Dates and times have yet to be set for these attractions.

The Auto Show will once again present a "Work in Progress" display area devoted to restoring, customizing and accessorizing vehicles. There will be many customized cars and motorcycles displayed within this exhibit, plus custom painting demonstrations daily.

The annual preview party, "A NIGHT OF CARS & STARS," is a fund raiser for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and will take place on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 P.M. at the Georgia World Congress Center. This event will give attendees the first opportunity to see hundreds of new vehicles, plus rub elbows with many of Atlanta's sports and media celebrities.

Admission to the Auto Show is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 6-12 years old. Children under 6 are admitted free. Weekday discount coupons are available at all participating local new car dealers, and in select ads in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Sunday, March 11 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Mon-Thurs, March 12-15 12:00 noon - 9:00 p.m.
Friday, March 16 12:00 noon - 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 17 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 18 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.


Box office closes one hour prior to the closing time of the show daily.

I went last year - really enjoyed getting to drive the Toyota Tacoma. It sold me on the truck - if I was ever ballin' enough to buy a new truck, that is. ;)

I never understood why you have to pay to get in. Whos the one trying to advertise cars? GM and Ford should pay everyones admission. They need all the sales they can get.
