I agree. STi is nice and quick. She can't go wrong with the IS350. They're pretty quick, maint. is affordable, ride is nice and quiet and comfortable.

For a little more change, she could pick up a used 98-00 Viper. :D

New vote: Scion xB.

No seriously, the IS350 is probably the best choice.

As far as Lexus owners having a 'holier than thou' attitude... Drive a Lexus, price how much it costs to maintain vs it's competitors, check the customer service and roadside assisstance.

At Nalley Lexus Smyrna near my house where my wife takes her Lexus, it's nothing but red carpet treatment. They brew Starbucks in house, give you food while you wait for an oil change or any other express service, give you a loaner at a moment's notice, open the doors for you, etc. They treat you like royalty and the customer service is superb. They follow up with a call to make sure everyone there was helpful, nice and friendly and to make sure you're completely satisfied.

You can't go wrong with a Lexus.

06 GTO...she can pick one up for less than 30k new. I know many people don't like the exterior styling, but the interior is top notch(not just for a pontiac either, but any car). It's kinda heavy at around 3750, but you cant argue with the LS2. Plus, with the extra cash she saved on the purchase she could mod the hell out of it.:2cents:

I vote for G35 and IS350. Of course I'm biased since I got them (G35 and IS250 Instead)

But if she want to buy them new and fully loaded, they'll be more than 40K. They'd be out of the budget.

May be a base model G35C is okay.

For the IS: Definitely get the Audio and Nav package. They're all worth it. She'll regret it just like we did :(

I test drove one...fell in love. Clutch takeup is smooth and predictable, interior is gorgeous and the seats are very comfortable. The back has a good amount of room too...but the seats are low, so it feels kinda tight. There is space though. The trunk is tiny though. Either way...I love that car.

You do realize you are an idiot, right? You said Lexus was made by Nissan. :slap:

The only reason Lexus, Infiniti (<-----see the "I" at the end you stupid people?), and Acura all exist in the US is because of the american public's view of the Japanese big three. Americans won't buy a $60k Nissan Fuga, but they WILL by a $60k Infiniti M45.

IS is pricey relative even to the new G...my sister-in-law's 350 w/ nav was a solid 10k more than my fully loaded '06 G and doesn't even have memory/heated seats, HID's, premium audio, or the G's gimmicky reclining back seats. Admittedly I don't get the slick looks but the G does everything I need it to and shares parts w/ coupes/350z's so plenty of cheap mods should I keep it beyond the warranty.
http://x6d.xanga.com/958d3641c3d3295746107/b67014717.jpg

The IS is pretty though...and plenty fast, although the paddle shifter is kind of lame. IS250 is the only one in the 35k range though. 350's with anything other than sport wheels cost high 30's after tax. Most girls I know go 250's b/c it looks the same and feels plenty sporty compared to the Camry's they're used to.

If she's an enthusiast, there are the dark horse options like used CTS-V, AMG C32, S4, M3 (coupe yes but so sexy) but the IS is 90% as fast w/o the reliability/maintenance headaches. IS is also a poor tuning choice unless she has an extra chunk in reserve to build a real money pit. Also no mention if auto is requisite...if so please don't let her buy a real performance model as it only encourages more manufacturers to build these half assed SMG's, paddle shifted autos, etc.

Lexus...no doubt. Infiniti great and all but lexus man you cant beat that. Seriously so much shit for such a lil price compared to BMW

so true

i have NEVER liked Infiniti... i don't like body styling of the G35 at all, i think the IS is way better then the G35.

if you end up getting the IS then my dad will treat your girl right, he is one of the managers at Nalley Lexus Galleria, biggest lexus dealer in the southeast, or if she is just curious and wants to pop in and chat, ask for Rick Croft

Tell your dad to hook me up on a trade-in.

Want to trade-in our black on black, 5spd IS300 for an IS250 or IS350.

You my friend, you summed it up right.

Tell her to get a 330i (06+) or a G35 Sedan, if not those, a used IS350 will do her right, those are SICK cars.

It's actually for tax reasons. Also for marketing.

G35 ONLY if it is no newer than 06. The 07+ body style looks like shit. The IS 250...350 if you want more power and the 328i will work too.

I'd roll with the BMW 328i. They are classy, sporty, and sexy as hell. I love the the angel eyes they have for their headlamps. All in all you can never go wrong with the Bimmer!:D

Also the G-35 sedan is also an awesome car and very comfortable IMO.

Get a new Camaro. It's so classy, there are already recalls on it to take away some of the classiness.

Well, with all the rebates nowadays she could get a brand new car for almost as little guilt as getting a slightly used one. I suggest the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO (price starts at $37,995). As mentioned, with the rebates and the fact that she has cash I'm sure she could get one out the door for $30,000. Twin Turbo, AWD... sporty.

NO, its an upmarket marque to separate the general brands from the classy. Which almost doesnt matter, cuz quality is great.

Kinda like CADILLAC over GMC
