it's got about 60,000 on the engine and the trans. it's a 96 honda civic. with the D16y motor. i'm gonna do my plugs. wires, and distributor this week.

It maybe Your Distributor or a Bad plug or Plug wire.

My Car did the same thing last Summer and My Distributor burn up on Me.
So You may want to start with a Rotary button and Distributor cap and maybe Plugs and Plug wires all at the same time
That way You get it all out of the way at one time and it will keep You from buying a Distributor right off the bat.

Well I Hope it Helps alittle and Good Luck Dude. :goodjob:

My Car (It was My '91 Civic Hatch) did it off and on for a Year or more before the Damn thing just gave in but it did make it that long.
So if Your going to do all that this Weekend then Great the sooner the Better.

Make sure all your plugs are good. We had the same problem in one car and come too find out 2 wires where touching!! The car ran the same way as you are stating!!

If that doesn't fix the problem, than you might want to check your head gasket.. I know sounds funny.. i've had a bad gasket before and it was leaking oil all over the plugs. It did the exact same thing you are describing.

check all your coolant line3s my did that and the line on the bottom of the fast rev valve had blown.....gl

shavedcivic

it's not my coolant lines. my buddy has a fetish with tighten every loose bolt, and there was a bolt by my dizzy that was loose ( which had to do with my tuning; due to my supercharger) and well that's what caused it.
