I have a LS trans with a LSD and a 4.9 final drive. Its a 94 trans. I am starting to get some grinding and was wondering what parts i should use to rebuild it with. Thanks:goodjob:

Thanks:goodjob:Replace fluid with GM Synchromesh from your local Chevrolet stealership and it should clear up up...really, its best the MTF available. (supposedly Pennzoils new Syncromesh is the same for 1/2 the $$$ but has yet to be confirmed)

synchromesh MAY solve the short term problem, but if its grinding, chances are the teeth are already stripped or worn.
94 LS tranny is over 10 years old. so i bet its the synchros. Pull the tranny and call Brad at Acura Honda Specialist. he rebuilds all my honda trannys

I always suggest a fluid change first, if it doesn't work you can simply drain it into a container and reuse it after the rebuild ;)

oh i agree, spend the $30 an see if it fixes it, it prob will for a few thousand miles.
but ultimately, if its grinding, its K.O.ed
Now, i would reccomend running GM fluid in the trans at all times IMO

oh yeah, fyi. There's two versions of the mtf synchromesh and i can't remember which one it is?!
