Where's this located, and can people go and visit others there by chance?

My cousin is there from PA, I havent even talked to him since I left PA. Him and I were like brothers (aside from my real brother) back home, it'd be nice to go visit him.

Thanks for any input :)

You can get a temporary pass. When you get to the gate ask the guards to direct you to the office for a temp pass. It's normally located right by the gate so you don't have to go too far.

Open post but to be safe you could have your cousin meet you at a gate and get you a visitor's pass and temp vehicle pass (saying that he is military) so you could shop at the wonderful land of "tax free" stores hehe.

Yep, Stateside bases are ALOT better (in the fact of security) then the ones overseas. Just have him meet you at the gate, and he will have to sign you on, and he will become your "sponsor". It would almost be best for you two to meet offbase, and park your car somewhere and you ride with him, bc if you get pulled over for anything HE gets in trouble, I found out this the hard way when my parents visited Robbins. Now saying that you are allowed on base, that could change at anytime the FPCON changes. Basically if all hell breaks loose or a threat in the world happens, then non Mil visitors are usually restricted from base. And Yeah, all base builiding are the same color.. It sucks sometimes, just have to look for the lil signs infront of the building if you need to find something.

You will have to have license and registration for you vehicle. Thats it. very easy. i used to have a military id and sticker to just drive thru, but since im 21 and dont go to school i lost my benifits. pretty lame.

security down there is stupid. I gave them a hard time once. Cause they searched my civic. I was like thats it. If i wanted to bring a bomb in here i could have. you guys missed like 60% of my car. They were kinda dum founded. They could not really say anything cause the ranked sticker on my car. But non the less it was funny.

No offense, bc I bet that made you feel all big and bad, BUT MPs/SPs don't care about rank. As long as you're not the installation Commander, they will do w/e they want, and will ''always be right.''

Chances are the check they did was one of the MANY random checks they are required to do, lemme guess
-Open hood, glovebox, trunk.. Just glanced thru ran underneath with a mirror.. If you had any piles of clothes are big speakerboxes, usually they move it around also..
Am I right? Bc that's the standard procedure.

Next time don't complain about the search either, bc by entering the gate you automatically consent to that at anytime.

It's being worked thru the DoD to get rid of all base stickers, and go to a 100% ID check. Which is a good thing.

So was the sticker yours or your parents? Not to bash you but people who put rank stickers on their cars are lame, there's no point to it unless you are a field grade officer or higher or a E-9.

Every day I go to and from work I have to show my ID plus sometimes my vehicle papers to include my SOFA license, along with a gay "liberty card" depeneding on the time. Yet Japanese civilians who work at the PX or else where can just show a quick card or sticker and drive right on by.

lame

Atleast you get to drive..lol I'm vehicleless for the next year. You have to be E7 and above to drive here.

The liberty card, that like a pass I guess so you don't go AWOL?

Yeah, they devised this big system where there's 2 types of cards, a "Gold Card" which allows a person to stay out all night, and a "Red Card" which restricts a person to be in at MIDNIGHT. All people E-5 and under just arriving are usually issued a red one right off the bat unless they are married and came with their family.

Atleast you get the chance to stay out all night.. lol I sound like a broken record. We have a 2400 curfew on Sun-Thurs/0100 for Fri/Sat/holidays.. Guess that's just the life of doin a remote tour though.
